I went here with my two boys for lunch today. I used to eat here at least once a week as I worked pretty close to the restaurant and was familiar with the staff here. Right after we got our food the waitress came to refill our drinks. I'm not sure if she tripped on her own feet or what but she spilled an entire cup of Pepsi directly on me. She immediately apologized and I wasn't angry, I understand it happens. I asked her to bring me some towels in which she did. Some of the drink got into my main dish but wasn't bad enough for me to send back, however my poor bowl of Mash potatoes was sitting closer to the impact zone and she promptly brought out a fresh bowl of them. As I ate my food I waited for the owner/manager to come to the table, however she didn't. So I asked another staff member to inform the owner/manager to come to the table. I was told well she didn't do it on purpose, in which I replied I understand. However it was a full cup that covered half of my shirt and my shorts and underwear were soaked. I have worked the food service before and also had the unfortunate accidental spill of drinks occur. It was customary to offer to give that persons meal for free or at least half of the meal depending upon how bad the accident was. The owner/manager came over and I was greeted by "yes you wanted to see me" well yea I kinda do your waitress accidentally spilled drink on me. "It was an accident not on purpose I give you your drink for free" and walked away. I paid and left end of story. If you eat here and get drink spilled on you and don't get justly compensated for it don't say you were not warned. I ll never spend my money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBased on the rating and reviews, my daughter and I were excited to try out Village Grill for breakfast. We were there this last Wednesday morning around 9-9:30 a.m. and we had no trouble parking in their parking lot, there was several spaces open. Our first impression of the atmosphere was great! Very spacious, clean and had a combination of booth, table and counter seating. Cute decorations for Autumn š We were seated fairly quickly and there was still a $5 tip on the table that had not been collected yet. When our waitress came to take our order, I pointed out the tip left on the table and she acted frustrated and said "I don't know who's this is but I guess I'll move it over here" and placed it on an empty table. She made us feel like she really didn't want to be there. We waited awhile for our meal to arrive and normally we don't mind but it seemed odd considering they were not busy. When we did get our breakfast, we went from excited to disappointed. My pancakes were dark! They were obviously overcooked and just crumbled when I cut into them with my fork. I took a few bites and just couldn't eat anymore. My daughter got the western omelette. She said the omelette was okay but felt like the ham was just cut up deli meat you buy in a package from the grocery store. Her hash browns were cold. She ate a few bites and was ready to leave. When we went to pay the bill the cashier asked how it was, and I did let her know that it was not good. She apologized and I paid the bill. Maybe this was not how they normally prepare their food but unfortunately when we went, they dropped the ball. We will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here today for our date night. The food was okay, service was okay, but the atmosphere felt like an old folks home. We were the youngest people in there and I'm 45. When you think Grill, you think of steaks being cooked on huge indoor grills, a darkish interior with warm lighting. Good wood bar stools and comfortable booths maybe with some candles. None of that here. White walls with random stuff around and some tvs. That's it. It seriously felt like an old folks housing facility. Nothing against that, it just doesn't belong in a restaurant with the "Grill" part attached to the name. This place is NOT a Grill, it's just home style cooking. It's just a plain jane restaurant. I was impressed they had Baklava and other out of the ordinary desserts and they make a pretty good Ruben. They just need a better atmosphere. Something warm, and not so sterile looking. Only complaint with the food was the mac-n-cheese my fiance had, she said it had no flavor at all. But I guess better no flavor than...
