I meant to leave a review every time I go there, and… since the first time I went there. The place cooks absolutely delicious food!
Everything about this establishment is top-notch. From the moment you walk in, you feel the warm atmosphere and smell something delicious going on! There is always a nice, kind, gentle and patient person serving you and/or other guests. I think this is a family owned place, that takes pride in serving home-made quality food. I even joke, what they add to make it so delicious- is it Love? Or maybe a true passion of gathering people around quality meal? Or maybe they have a secret source for delicious ingredients? I dont remember having a cucumber taste like a real cucumber in US, 😂 Not until my dear friend took me there.
Nothing is oversalted, or over-sweet (their pastries are heaven in mouth!) I am sentitive to preservatives and flavor enhancers (like umami, mono-something-benzoesan sodium) and they don’t use it. The amount of spices seems just perfect to bring out natural flavor of their dishes. The portions are perfect. Noone tries to buy you with unnecesarily oversized plates - just the real deal! Their soups, oh Lord - heaven in mouth and on the Earth! Every single one! Since I have samples so much of the menu over many visits, I can confidetly say that each item on menu is a pure delight!
Shirin Cafe specializes in Central Asian/Turkish cuisine, with a focus on Kyrgyzstan dishes (my friend is from there). Don’t feel freightened of possibly exotic flavors. Every country will be satisfied! The dishes are so global that there is no other way - but everyone is fed and happy! Try their buffet! For reasonable cost you can enjoy a variety of items from their menu!
Everything tastes so good! Like in these old good times we miss so much, when food simply tasted delicious! Nowadays it seems very hard to find good-tasting food in America. Artificial flavors, colors, pumped sizes. Oversalted, over-mayo-ed, burrried in ketchup or steak sauce, or any of these taste-buds burning salty sauces - nowadays you dont enjoy food, you get stuffed.
Thus Im grateful for this local gem and keep telling everyone about Shirin: -plenty of parking great hours -variety of dishes: fresh, well-balanced flavors! -impeccable cleanliness of the place, and neat - you will not smell old burnt oil, or overused Pine Soil to kill the dirty smells they also sell deliscious (and REAL - it crystalizes) honey -reasonable prices
Trust me, and choose it for whatever taste you have! Or maybe you need a healthy lunch for kids? Spouse?
I wish this place was in Uber Eats or had option for delivery and I hope they soon extend this offer. More people deserve to know about this...
Read moreI can’t speak to the food as I was never served. Unless you are Central Asian and speak the language, don’t come to this restaurant. The woman at the counter doesn’t speak English at all and seemed like she didn’t want to serve people who weren’t her ethnicity. She looked at me like I was human garbage and an annoyance to her. She was trying to discourage us from eating there and claiming everything on the menu wasn’t available. I left some money on the table for the juice I took and left. I should not have even left anything as the juice was water.
All the reviews on here are from Turkish and Central Asian people. Notice not one Westerner. If they do not want to serve people who do not speak their language, they should make it private restaurant then and not open to the public. If you are going to open to public, you should be open to people of all ethnic backgrounds. The girl acted like she had no idea why I was walking in here. It’s a shame because I love Turkish food and loved the time I spent in Turkey, but this place is just not welcoming. Why do they even bother having a menu in English if they don’t want Westerners to enter their restaurant?
She had no pide and no breakfast and then came to the table to tell us no manty. What did she have then in since it’s such a limited menu with only a few items? It’s not like I went late in the late in the day too. It was 1 pm. The juice was the only thing I tried and extremely watered down. Artificial. Why even have a menu if nothing on it is available and/or if the chef will not cook it?
With the way the economy is, they should be thankful for any customers willing to go out and spend money. I am also an attorney and a respectable person and did not deserve to be treated so badly. Actually, nobody deserves...
Read moreI’ve been this place for two times. My first time was good and girl was very nice. She gave us extra old boortsog free. Food was good though. Yesterday I took my aunt there to taste some Kyrgyzstan food. There was different waitress girl. Owner or one man told her something and she start acted so bad to us. Food portion was smaller than normal and soup was too oily. She didn’t want to give us damn old boortsog. That is ok we weren’t hungry. She rushed us as we were eating, she started cleaning our table. I asked her small plastic box to carry out our carrot salad that was too spicy to eat. She almost throw to me. However we tipped our service. I was so ashamed of service and situation. Bc I took my aunt there and we felt so bad. We guess they hate Mongolians or different ethnicity. Next time Mongolian or different ethnicity people come, they should warn them before taking order. Plus, this is America. We never experience like that racism before. Hope your children will understand American spirit. You should write “ no service other than Kyrgyzstan people” on your window instead of wasting other...
