Truth be told I'm finding it slightly difficult to rate this place right now. I came to this location a month ago, because my primary care physician has retired and I'm in the process of trying to find a new doctor, and I received excellent care. The doctor I saw was a wonderful man, very sweet and listened when I explained the issues I was having. He even asked me questions about "simple" symptoms I wouldn't have even thought to tell him I had such as sore neck, loss of appetite, headaches, etc. After a conversation about my symptoms and taking my vitals it was determined that I had an ear infection, a sinus infection, and bronchitis. He prescribe me some medicine which he explained very well what each medication would do and sent me on my way with a doctor's note to give my work so I could stay home for a couple days and get better. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name and I can't seem to find it on any of the release papers but this was on April 29th.
Fast forward to today: I decided to go to this location again because I had received a great experience the first time around, however today's experience was extremely different. While the nurse who actually checked me into my exam room was quite wonderful, she asked me many detail questions about my symptoms and then said she be giving me a strep test just to be safe, the doctor however was not wonderful! Unlike last time the doctor came in already appearing as if she was rushed, told me her name (a dr podgorsha), checked my vitals, and then the only questions she asked me was if I smoked or had asthma and if i had shortness of breath because I guess I had a squeaky cough. When I told her no to smoking/asthma and yes to shortness of breathe she told me she wanted to give me a breathing treatment and then left the room. Another nurse came in with the breathing treatment and then about 30 to 45 minutes later a third nurse came in to see how i was feeling. A couple mintues after that the doctor returned to give me a list of medications she was putting me on along with an extremely Rush explanation as to why she was giving me these medications vs another one, she was speaking so fast I couldn't understand a single thing she was saying, and that was it.
At no point did anyone tell me what I was being diagnosed with, at no point did anyone give me the results of my strep test that they gave me when I came into the exam room, and at no point did anyone except for the nurse who checked me in really ask me any questions about what was wrong. It wasn't until I received my release papers that I saw that I was diagnosed with bronchitis again and that my strep test was negative. I also saw a list of things on my release papers that are apparently questions I was supposed to be asked at one point or another but was never actually asked so these "answers" are fake. For example no one asked me my pain level but it says here that my pain was answered at 5 out of 10, at no point was i asked if I had a loss of appetite or not but it says here that my symptom of a loss of appetite is negative, no one asked me about chills fatigue fever sweats aches and pains ect and all of it is listed as negative. However I can tell you that a lot of these symptoms that are listed as negative are in fact positive!
At this point all I can do is hope that the diagnosis I was given is correct and that the list of medications I was given will work. I honestly at this point can't say whether or not in the future I will return to this location. I can tell you that if I do decide to return this location and this is the doctor I'm given I will walk out. I understand all doctors have different bedside manner but I can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I've had with a doctor in a...
Read moreI have had the worst experience ever with the Norridge location of Physician Immediate Care. Went there with lower abdomen pain. The doctor prescribed antibiotics, took sample for test and stated that the test will be back in 48 hours and she will call me after they receive the test results to discuss if my diagnosis was correct and if I have to continue taking the antibiotic. No one from the immediate care contacted me after 48 hours or ever after my visit. I called the immediate care numerous times with no answer of the phone line. Spoke only ones with their rep and have been told that my test results are not ready yet. Contacted Quest Diagnostic to find out that there weren’t any test pending completion under my name. Went to follow up with my PCP because was still experiencing pain. My PCP asked me for the test results that the Immediate care should have sent to Quest. My PCP called Quest to find out that there are no test pending or recently completed under my name. My PCP needed the test results to decide on my treatment, what tests to prescribe and if a had to continue with the antibiotics. She has attended to connect with the Immediate care with no result and advised me to go to the Norridge Immediate Care in person and get my test results. I went to physician Immediate care Norridge and after waiting for more than 30 minutes was approached in the waiting room by the same doctor from my first visit. Was invited by her for a discussion. The doctor told me that my test sample from my first visit was sent to Quest in the wrong container and was never completed by Quest. I have told the doctor that Quest doesn’t have any trac of my sample or tests and I suspect they were never sent to Quest. I expressed my concern that I am still in pain, went for several Ultrasound prescribed by my PCP and don’t have my test results from my first Immediate care visit which would have been crucial for my diagnosis based on my PCP statement. Also I took antibiotics prescribed by the Immediate care doctor my PCP wasn’t sure if I had to. So I was back in the square one, pain, no test results, no diagnosis no cure. And all of this because of neglecting of my test samples by Immediate Care associates and no test results. The immediate care doctor suggested to take another test sample and I explained to her that my PCP did that just the same day. The Immediate care doctor insisted. They took sample to find out that based on some quick testing on their premises they concluded my rest results seem fine and I found out later on that they sent the sample to Quest as well this time. And then I was billed by Immediate for a second visit and according by Quest Diagnostic. So in general my experience - neglecting never sending my tests for completion, miscommunication, no diagnosis but ended up with bill for 2 visits by Physician Immediate Care. Absolutely do not recommend Norridge Physician Immediate Care. Would have given them zero stars but the system didn’t let me to post this statement...
Read moreI cant even begin to believe the horrendous service I had today. I got here at about 9am because I had some terrible cold/flu symptoms. First off, the receptionist with a piercing in the middle of her cheek lacked any customer service skills. She didnt even say "hi" or 'hello" or "how can I help you?" Just "what do you need." After all the paperwork and whatnot, I didnt get back to a room until about 9:30am. Fine, it's a weekend, they're busy, and there were 3 people in front of me when I arrived, I get it. I get to the room and get seen by the triage nurse within 5 minutes, cool. She takes my vitals, swabs me for the flu, and says the doctor will be in there shortly. I waited until 10:15am and NO ONE CAME TO SEE ME. At this point, I'm hungry, light-headed, congested, and they left me in a room WITH NO TISSUES for my nose! I saw 2 or 3 other people come in after I arrived and leave before I even saw the doctor. I just about lost my mind. I walked out and was going to head home and suck it up until the next day when I could seey primary doctor. The nurse asked, "What's going on? Are you okay?" I told her that I wasnt okay and that I was just going to go home because it was ridiculous that I had been waiting that long just to see someone to find out if i had the flu or not. The nurse says "Well the doctor is working on your discharge paperwork, so you should be leaving soon." WAIT, WHAT? THE DOCTOR HADNT EVEN SEEN ME AND THEY WERE COMPLETING MY DISCHARGE PAPERWORK HOW? I waited about another 5 minutes and a PA came in to see me and apologized for the wait. He did a mini-exam, told me what I had, and some of the antibiotics/meds he was going to prescribe. He said to give him a few minutes and he would call in my meds to the Walgreens next door. The nurse comes back in with discharge instructions, my prescriptions note, and a doctors note for work tomorrow. So they DIDNT call my medications in AND they checked off "Mr." on my doctors note for work tomorrow.... I AM FEMALE. MY CHARTS SAY FEMALE. I WAS BORN BIOLOGICALLY AND ANATOMICALLY FEMALE. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS ANYWHERE THAT I AM MALE OR WISHED TO BE REFERRED TO AS SUCH. To say I was offended is to put it lightly. I'm so horrified by this whole experience. I usually go to the physicians immediate in Glendale Heights because that's closer to our home and never had such a poor experience there... I only came to this one because it was closer to my in-laws house (where we were spending the weekend). DO NOT COME HERE. It's not worth the frustration, the co-pay, or the lack or adequate healthcare you'll receive. It was a waste of over 2 hours of my day. I would rather die from my flu/wounds/cold/heart attack/anything than come...
