This was my go to store for random projects because they always had products home depot or Lowes didn't have. Plus the owner who was a customer of a bank in the area I used to work at which is pretty much why I went there, to support his business. But today they have lost any and all future business from me and this is why. I walked in to the store in search of compression springs, walked to the back by the key department looking for an associate to ask if they had any. One customer was being helped in front of me, so I thought it should be long. Other customers were being asked if they needed help around me, tried to flag those associates down to no avail. Kept waiting and waiting, an older gentleman came from the back store room and ask what I needed. Pointed me to the aisle I needed to go to, went there and checked it out and didn't have what I needed. Proceeded to walk out and right at the door I was asked by an associate who was also next to a bigger burly associate if I "took anything". In my head, I'm thinking what kind of bone headed question is this? Told him I needed compression springs and they didn't have them. The burly associate followed me from a distance as I walked to my car telling me "I'd hate to assume but I have to ask" whatever that means. I work at a bank, if I asked every customer that came in if they were here to rob us I'd have no job. Anyways I'll be going to the Ace on Foster and Harlem from now on. Please train your employees how to engage with customers and not accuse anyone with a tan complexion just because I walked out with nothing in my hands. Making accusations without a cause is extremely unprofessional and looks really bad on you. So yeah, I only got attention from the many associates there because I was suspected of stealing, but not when I needed help finding something. Should've been the other way around but if this is how they conduct business I'll gladly drive out of my way to the Harlem...
Read morePurchased lawnmower on ACE app may 5th from Norridge Ace. It was supposed to be delivered Thursday last week. When it didn't arrive and the app said delivered I knew something was wrong. Per manager, someone showed w my information on the app" right" that Wednesday same time manager called me to reschedule my delivery date from Saturday to Thursday and stole the mower. They didn't bother checking any identification. Almost a $500 mower they allowed someone else to just walk out with. Now I'm being told it's not their fault or problem by store manager BOB. He basically told me I have to deal with Ace card care...Nooo Bob, it is your problem. Since you didn't check any credentials Ace card care did say this is your PROBLEM. You allowed someone to walk out with thr mower without checking any information. I'd also like to add that my order was ordered for DELIVERY and not pick up. Wouldn't that be a RED FLAG? You mentioned you were the one that didn't check IDs . So here we are a week ir more later and still no responsibility taken for their screw up. Not even a apology or hey we'll refund. Everytime I ask for my refund I'm told to wait and give them a few days for their internal investigation. H9w about I get my money back and fire the incompetent individual who allowed this theif to walk out with my purchase. I've also been waiting on a call from MELISSA which I never received, not even a apology from the owner of this location. I see this is a ongoing trend here with another review someone else left. I belive this is a inside JOB allowing a employee to set this all up. Bob one more thing, there was no need for your attitude about all this since Noone has reached out and given me any information or updates. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ORDER A HIGH TICKET...
Read moreThe last two times I’ve been here the customer service stunk. The first time the iPad that’s used for U-Haul returns was malfunctioning. The problem solving abilities of the kids working there was non-existent. They quarreled amongst themselves, wasn’t sure what else to do and the person they thought might have the answers was In a meeting. This went on for 10 minutes after which I left. Thought I’d give this store another chance when I needed to get some bolts and screws that got lost during my move. This time it was difficult to find someone that worked there. I located a young man working the key making machine and asked if he could help me. He responded to me as if I demanded he stop what he was doing and help me immediately and told me “you’ll have to wait” which I kinda figured. So I stood there whilst he worked the key machine. After a little bit I started to walk around the aisle looking for the items I needed. 2 ladies were ushered there by another employee and now the person that was suppose to help me has stopped what they were doing to help them! I stood there and watched as he helped these ladies. When he was finished he headed back to the key machine. Surprised by that, I told him that this was terrible customer service. He told me he must have made my day. To which I replied “no you didn’t. This is NOT what I want my day filled with” and left. I will never come back nor recommend this store to anyone. This store has no idea what...
