We are travelers on a 1600 mile journey. We stopped at Cartleman‘s at the recommendation of two young workers at the local museum. Our waitress seated us and was most friendly. We waited quite a while before she came back. We asked for waters and immediately ordered our meal. We waited and waited and waited. We got her attention and asked for waters again. This time she brought the water and dinner rolls. We waited a short while for salads. When she brought our dinner, she brought fried mushrooms instead of ghe grilled mushrooms we had ordered from the menu. We proceeded to eat our dinner . She stopped back with the bill. At that time, I asked her if we were going to get the baked potatoes that were supposed to come with our meal. The menu also indicated that the potatoes came with bacon. (The manager later explained that they ran out of bacon and wouldn't get a delivery until Monday. We did notice there was a grocery store in town where bacon could most likely be purchased.) When we checked the bill, we found that she had charged us for a drink that we didn’t order. We then explained to her about the error on the mushrooms as well. She returned with a manager. The manager did adjust the errors. Unfortunately, our waitress wasn’t able to serve our table as she should have been. Despite the 20 or 30 times she apologized, she truly needed to step up her service. She and the manager asked if we would return another time. Thst remains to be seen. In fairness to the cooks, the food...
Read moreI wish we would have read the reviews before eating here...twice. We agree with all of the poor reviews and would add the following: Worst french dip sandwich ever! Served with ice cold Au jus. Husband had to beg for coffee refills. Waitress left silverware packet with NO spoon to stir sugar in coffee. Husband had to hunt her down only to find her behind backdrop texting! Then she gave him attitude about his being back there. Waitress brings meal with fries & NO ketchup?! Husband ordered all dark meat chicken special & told they were out of dark meat...WHAT?! There were plenty of empty tables yet we were seated at the one where the blinds were ruined (they all looked pretty tattered & tacky) & it couldn't be adjusted. No paper towels in Mens room. The first time there we shared the rib eye steak for two. What a joke. Flat as a pancake & well done when we ordered it medium. When we asked to get it done right, the waitress said "oh, I don't think I can get you a new one". Again...WHAT? ! We had more of a chance to see how the decor in general is filthy & disgusting. But the worst part for us, even after experiencing the above, is the service. It appears to us that this place is run by a whole bunch of young people who have NOT been trained on how to be professional AND use common sense. They need to have some vast improvements before we ever give them any more of our hard earned money. We're going to try the restaurant down the street as suggested by...
Read moreDriving through and stayed the night in Liberal. Decided to grab a bite to eat. Not worth your time. Wait staff needs to be trained. A couple of them were clueless. Asked what came with certain dishes and she didn’t know. Restaurant was not very clean. Tables need to be stripped and revarnished. Very sticky and tacky tables. The light fixture above our table was coated in food particles and just gross. Food was not great either. Ordered a pork chop and could not get a knife through it. Waitress never came back to table to ask how our food was. When she finally did, with the bill, we had to ask for credit, otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten it. She wasn’t sure what to do and went back to ask someone else. Came back and said she needed to get approval from the manager and literally grabbed the pork chop with her fingers to take back to kitchen. We did end up getting credit so we appreciated that. Again, they need to be trained. Customer service goes a LONG way. It’s too bad because there really is not a nice place to get a good...
