The owner of this Quality Inn is also the owner of Motel 6 where I rented a room for one night. next day , in the morning By 6am the room had no heat. I contacted the front office and let them know. , I asked them if they wanted to check it out, they responded no, only one person was at the front desk on quality inn , and not one was in the Motel 6 office and the doors were closed. them I , 100% on a joking way, told to the person in the office that I felt like they owed me breakfast,( motel 6 don have breakfast, quality INN, yes) , I never asked for money back , and he said yes, come and grab a couple of sandwiches, I said thanks. That's what I did, and I even ate one of them sitting there. I returned to my room and stayed there until approximately 10:30am and then left. waiting to see if someone go and check the heat on the room, everything good so far.
At sunset I had to choose to return to the hotel, because my truck was not ready. and once again I returned to Motel 6, which is where I almost always rent, wherever I need lodging. Approximately 10 minutes after entering to my room , the owner of both hotels call me to accuse me that I owed him 20 dollars for the two sandwiches that they had given me free due to the lack of heating. because according to him the heat was OK.
honestly I would have gladly given them to him, if it weren't for the rude, aggressive, and obscene way in which he referred to me. I paid them two nights at 70 dollars a night, in a hotel that is not even the shoe of the Motel super 8 that is on the other side of the street, the motel 6 and the quality INN are practically empty, due to the poor quality of the rooms. and I was treated like a thief or a criminal. This is my story and this is my observation. some people, usually say that the thief judges by his condition and it's true. people of bad faith, selfish, not honest, act in this way, to obtain advantages over another. and they judge others as if all people were equal to them
America is changing, many people come from other countries with money, to impose their ways of life and behavior on us, because that is what they learned there, and they think that here we are like that. Human values, such as honesty, sincerity, have begun to become another word in the dictionary. so , you can avoid a possible bad time, and can enjoy all the comforts that the city of Liberal, KS offers. Just avoiding these two hotels, it is not worth spending a penny in a place where they do not appreciate you as a client or guest. what for ? to save yourself about 5 or 10 dollars, which is the difference between a despicable and smelly place, where from the moment you arrive they look at you like a filthy rat because they think they are superior since they are owners of two hotels,
and de cost of any other hotel in the city. I recommend the entire city of Liberal, KS to take back the city and replace American values. The best thing this country has are the people who live on it , and we don't need someone from another planet wanting to come and impose their " different " methods of life on us. Do not use these two hotels, these owners need to learn to appreciate every penny they earn, because that money comes from people who earn it with the sweat of their work. Don't use these hotels and let's teach them that respect, appreciation, consideration, and customer satisfaction are not just words. Don't waste your time and money supporting a business that doesn't...
Read moreBooked thru 3rd party site for a same-day reservation (non-refundable room), but erred by reserving wrong date- my mistake! Upon realizing my mistake, I immediately called hotel to ask if adjustment could be made. GM told me to call the 3rd party w/in 24 hours, & that I would likely get refund; then, he'd save a room for me for that night. Indeed, 3rd party agreed to adjust reservation, pending approval from hotel GM for the night I actually wanted. I was then shocked when 3rd party emailed me that GM denied request: if GM was going to deny, why'd he suggest I call 3rd party in 1st place? I called hotel and spoke to a mgr, who said GM had instructed him to tell me he wouldn't honor refund request (that he had suggested I get), but that I could stay at hotel that night as long as I paid for both nights. Again, I couldnt understand why GM would expect me to pay 2X for room when he had suggested that I get refunded, but I figured it was misunderstanding, that the GM & I could figure things out when I arrived later that day. When I finally arrived, GM wasnt there. I spoke to mgr, who suggested I see GM next door at the Motel 6. I went there & introduced myself to GM, who stated he wouldnt give me refund because 3rd party would keep his commission & that he had staffing issues (none of which had anything to do with my situation). He also admonished his Quality Inn mgr for sending me next door to him. I showed GM the email from the 3rd party and stated to GM that he had gone back on his word, which he didn't deny. He still couldnt explain why he had suggested I contact 3rd party in 1st place if he was ultimately going to deny the adjustment request that he had initially suggested that I try to get. I suggested I pay difference of $4 (and by this time, it was after 9 pm, & I'd been on the road for 7+ hrs). He said no. I then stated that if GM wasnt open to working out a better solution, I would contest the hotel charge with my credit card company, contact 3rd party, & write this Google review, and ultimately stay at his competitor across street. GM then accused me of threats. Really, I just wanted to be treated with empathy and courtesy, given a hotel room at a fair price, & get rest for work the next day. Our conversation quickly ended after that, and I did stay at hotel across street, at a...
Read moreHave stayed in many Motels in Liberal over the past couple of years. Frankly most are shall we say...less desirable in location and conditions especially for those traveling with a dog. Had just joined Choice Hotels so decided to try the Quality Inn on E.Pancake last Friday night. I made the reservation online to earn rewards points and made the note that I needed a ground floor non smoking room so as to make it easy to get my dog in and out. When I called the day before to confirm the reservation and the request for the ground floor, the owner Jay confirmed the special request. Arrived and checked in with Jay. My first impression of Jay was based on watching him go above and beyond in assisting an Independent Contractor work through issues getting the right price for the rooms he needed. Got to me, checked me in and once again confirmed a ground non smoking room. I drove up to the room and found it was between two rooms occupied by several male workers who were enjoying the warm weather outside their rooms and having a well earned break at the end of the work week. I had no problem but knew my dog was going to make a big deal of them as she started to bark before we even got out of the car. So I went back to Jay and explained the situation. He immediately found us a room in a quieter location on the back side of the motel without question or complaint. It was clear his concern was that I was satisfied in staying at his motel. It was perfect. The room was definitely non-smoking, was clean, and everything was in order. And although I left early and didn't partake of the free breakfast it looked excellent! Traveling with a dog can be an issue and it keeps me from staying in more "upscale" hotels. I would say that Jay's Quality Inn easily earned my 5 stars for this stay. This will be my first choice the next time I pass through Liberal with or without the dog. Jay's customer service is outstanding and has earned my...
