Girard Wok — Restaurant in Liberty Township

I've been a faithful advocate for Girard Wok, for many, many years, but as of late, I was shocked, and discusted by my last two vists to Girard Work. It would be understandable if it was under different management, there was the same nice lady that has always been there since I remember running the counter and kitchen. To say the food, this last two times, was discusting would be a kindness, it was downright abhorrently revolting. The time before last the food was dried out, bland, and Luke warm. The rice tasted old and hard, and broke up in your mouth like grains of dirt, totally gross. The last time, and final time I'll ever return, I ordered boneless spare rib combination dinner, an order of House Chow Mei Fun, two orders of pork Lo Mein, and combination Moo Goo Gai Pan. EVERY dish was discusting! The spare ribs were BURNT to a crisp, dried out, and hard as a rock like it was week old re-heated food, and so was the fried rice, like before, it crumbled in your mouth like dirt and was hard as a rock, discusting tasting. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was bland, Luke warm, I asked for it to be served with fried rice, but instead, it was served with overcooked mushy Luke warm white rice, and was also requested that extra snow peas be included, which weren't, in fact, there was only 2 in the whole dinner. The pork Lo-Mein was slimy, spoiled tasting, and smelled like sewage, my kids usually inhale Lo-Mein like it's their favorite in the world, but took two bites an said it was Horrible, and the same old hard dried out fried rice that crumbled like dirt in your mouth was with it too. The House Chow Mei Fun was JUST as Luke warm, slimy, and smelled like it was soaking in toilet water, my mother almost vomited. Let's just say I am EXTREMELY UPSET and DISAPPOINTED with the way Girard Wok has succumbed to the lazy poor quality and standards that usually affect the businesses in this area, because of young, lazy, new employees, that expect to get a paycheck for just "showing up" for work, but do not care, and have no intention of caring for "earning" that said paycheck, I am disheartened, and ashamed of this restaurant that I used to hail as, "The best in N.E. Ohio", but as if now, is a sad reminder of what usually happens to great businesses in the surrounding areas, Laziness, lack of Quality, and the integrity needed to keep the High Standards that people expect from once great places. I guess we can mark off another once great place, to Laziness. I will never be returning to Girard Wok, and I'll be sure to forward this experience to as many people...

I have been a customer of the Girard Wok since 1992. It is super close to where I live & I love the food. Yes, there’re people they don’t care for it or say that it’s a dirty place but I’ve never had a bad meal there. One thing I’ve always loved is that no matter what you order, it will be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. I always order the same things. Bourbon chicken, beef broccoli, wonton soup, boneless spare ribs, pork egg rolls & fried cream cheese wontons. The staff has always been super awesome. They’ve never gotten my order wrong or not prepared me a very tasty lunch or dinner. I usually do take-out, but every now and again, I will dine there. The food is good. I always get the Cream Cheese Fried Wonton and the Sesame Chicken Special Combination. While I miss the broccoli in the sesame chicken, the biggest issue I have is that there is always this white dude working the counter in there now and I don’t like him. I wish you could still order online. Always asking for a “Name for the order”… You got my phone number bro! You used to call and they say “Girard Wok” and you just tell them what you want, they say ok, 10 minute, and then when you go to pick it up you can just tell them what you ordered or the last 4 of your phone number.
