Texas Seafood and Steak — Restaurant in Liberty

This is a family owned restaurant. We walked in and the decoration is super cute! My niece kept pretending she was a mermaid under water. Once you go you will understand. The food was amazingly delicious. I got the shrimp poboy. It was so yummy! I would have liked baguette style bread instead of hoagie bread, but in the end I didnt care because it tasted so good. We also had the fried pickles. I want them to sell the fried pickles in a bag so I can buy them whenever I want! To top it off the service was the best I have had in a long time. Our serve kept our water glasses full and was somehow there when we needed something. She was so nice. I was sitting right under the a.c. and got cold so she over heard me and offered to turn the a.c. down! Over all this mom and pop place is the best place I have been to in a long time. I took a co-worker here for lunch yesterday. He's from Arizona and was excited to try some boiled crawfish. I recommended we try this spot, as I called ahead and learned they had a 5 lb special for $29.99. We ordered a dozen raw oysters for an appetizer and they were great. The crawfish, on the other hand, was probably the worst I've ever had in my life time. The flavor was good, but they were extremely difficult to peel. The tails came out in mushy pieces. There were several floppy, straight tailed ones that appeared to have been dead already before they were cooked. I don't know if these were previously frozen, cooked a day or more prior and then microwaved, or what the deal was, but I was embarrassed that I'd brought my co-worker here to try crawfish and ended up with that as our meal. So I have enjoyed the food here in past but I have to say that we were sorely disappointed this visit. I had heard that the quality of food had gone done but I'm not one to go off what others say. Coming back from long day I decided to pick up meals for family ordering jumbo shrimp with sides. The fried shrimp was little tasty but the crusty batter was missing. The cole slaw had no flavor other than moist mayonnaise.....ugh. And the okra was definitely old and I couldn't enjoy. So let's just say that Wednesday is the last time I will ever eat there again!
