I decided to celebrate my birthday at Austin's this past Friday and was deeply disappointed and embarrassed by the service received. The waiter spilled an entire glass of red wine on my outfit (see picture). I did not even realize what had happened since my back was towards the waiter and did not feel the liquid seep through my clothing right away. My entire party was like, "Wow, he spilled the whole glass of wine on you". Initially, I thought everyone was pulling a prank on me, then my brother came behind me and took a picture of my soiled clothing. When I realized what had happened, I went to my car to grab a jacket to put on and also explained to the managers, Derek and Pete, what had happened. They told me they would pay for the dry cleaning once I submitted the receipt to them and to enjoy my birthday. Fair enough...I joined the rest of the party; however, the waiter NEVER acknowledged me again. He NEVER asked if I was okay, never asked if I wanted another drink or refill of water, never asked if my food was okay...nothing at all. I would think he'd be a little attentive since he spilled wine on my back and try to make things right. When my bill came, my meal wasn't even comped or discounted (which was appalling). I wasn't even going to say anything about it, but everyone else in my party was shocked that MY meal was not discounted or free (especially when the managers knew it was my birthday). My brother spoked to the waiter about my meal being free and the waiter rolled his eyes and I could tell he was highly annoyed. Eventually, he removed the cost of my meal, but that should have been a given. All in all, the customer service sucked. I understand that the waiter was probably embarrassed himself, but so was I. He didn't even try to make things right. By the way, I got the stain out of my...
Read moreOn Wednesday July 20, I dined with some friends for trivia. It was not our first time going. Just like a lot of places nowadays, we had to order using a QR code website. Not our first time doing this either. The website doubled some of our ordered items. That evening, we let our server know, but our server was only able to cancel the double order to the kitchen, not to the website. At the end of the evening, the bill was still showing the double order for some items. I spoke to the manager who attempted to cancel some items, but the bill was still incorrect. While I was trying to discuss with my friends if anything was off with their bills, the employees turned the lights off on us without warning. We left that night very disappointed with the experience. On Saturday, I saw the statement for my debit card and realized that the amount was about $40 higher than it should have been. Upon looking at my emailed receipt, it appeared as if I had still been charged for the double items. I called Austin’s at store open to reconcile the situation. After a medical emergency, the manager called me back, but couldn’t (or wouldn’t) fix the bill. After not hearing back, I called again around 4:45. I was told that my name was written down and that the manager would follow up, but there was a big party being attended to. I called again around 8:30 and had to leave a message. Apparently the restaurant was closed even though their hours online list they’re open until 9. Very disappointed in management and the website they are using for operations. I hope to reconcile the bill, but I will not be returning until using a server for payment is an option. As of August 2, no one has called me back to...
Read moreWe just ordered the “Sky Box Home Meal” and had a terrible experience. I saw online that they offered this special on their website and it includes 2 pizzas with two toppings, chicken wings or tenders and a salad for $35.95. I asked my husband to place the order and he did so online and when he arrived home from picking it up, he told me he was charged $45 plus an extra $3.50 for the two toppings (sausage and extra cheese. The pizza did not have extra cheese and there were only ten pieces of sausage.
I asked him to call and speak to the manager, who initially offered to refund the difference. After five minutes the manager called back ranting and swearing at the top of his lungs at my husband saying he “knew was he was doing” because he ordered and checked out online. He then told him he was looking at an old website for the special price - which we were not (picture included). He ultimately yelled and swore at him and said he wasn’t refunding anything because he went ahead and placed the order online so he agreed to an incorrect price. He said we were banned and he didn’t ever want to see our name at his restaurant again, and he better not see our name come up on a ticket again.
We have small children and they were frightened by some angry man swearing at my husband over the phone so loudly that they heard every word. We try to support local businesses however if you are advertising a special but not only don’t honor it, but call and swear at someone after you agreed to refund them, it is not behavior that should not be allowed.
I am ASTOUNDED by this...
