Sabor Inka is the best peruvian restaurant in town and probably all of GA. My family and I have been eating at numerous peruvian restaurants throughout our years here and only a small handful come close to Sabor Inka. Sabor Inka is the best peruvian restaurant for an all around peruvian cuisine experience. If you see my other reviews, you'll see that I've been to other good peruvian restaurants that do extremely well on one dish or type of dish but not everything. Good portion sizes, impeccable food quality, and good service. At Sabor Inka, you get the best that peruvian cuisine can offer in Georgia.
Complimentary bread 10/10 - though just garlic bread and not exactly peruvian, it is so crunchy and delicious. It's like none I have tried at other restaurants. Surprisingly, it tastes good when you dip it in the spicy green sauce that comes with it!
Arroz chaufa de pollo 10/10- My absolute favorite dish here, and the one I usually get at peruvian restaurants. Of the many peruvian restaurants that I've been to in all my life, this one has the best Arroz chaufa! The flavor is beyond that of almost any I tried. The portions of chicken are flavorful, chunky, crispy, and abundant. The rice is also greatly flavorful with the perfect mix of salt, sesame oil, soy sauce, and even butter (not used in other restaurants but it's the pièce de la résistance)! The one small detail it lacks is a stronger wok-fired flavor along with a bit of darkening with soy sauce. I absolutely recommended it to anyone coming to eat here. I don't ever come in without getting this dish!
Lomo Saltado 10/10 - bursting with flavor, juicy, well portioned, and a peruvian classic. You also can't go without trying the Lomo. My older brother (lomo connoisseur) and I both agree that it is one of the best lomos we have ever tried, especially in the area. It gets everything right and leaves you wanting more. It is hard to replicate the greatness of this Lomo and you won't find one this good in many other places. If you want a better experience, get it "a lo pobre" for an egg and fried plantains on the side. You can thank me later.
Papa Rellena 8/10 - I'm only giving it this score because I prefer the one I make at home. I do greatly enjoy the crispy exterior on it which I have never seen on other peruvian restaurants but the meat filling could be more flavorful and abundant. The meat to potato ratio was imbalanced.
Jalea mixta 10/10 - a fried fish dish my parents always enjoy and recommend.
Pollo empanizado 6/10 - though a large portion, it lacks a stronger flavor. The breading itself is not particularly flavorful and the marinara sauce is bland. Serving it with seasonless fries and white rice doesn't complement it either. Though it is peruvian, it is not the best or most peruvian dish to get here. Try the arroz Chaufa, lomo saltado, ceviche, or other traditional dishes.
Tallarin Saltado 9/10 - very juicy and flavorful. It's almost identical to the Lomo saltado but with noodles instead of fries and rice. You'll find that it is juicier like a soup but may be too salty of the soy sauce at times. You may want to avoid if your cholesterol is too high. Otherwise, you can enjoy this delicious fish.
Salchipapas 9/10 - although done differently as street food, the flavor of the sausage was deep and flavorful, which is just how it should be. You don't want your average sausage flavor for a dish that's as simple as fries and hotdog. Having a distinct and greatly flavored hotdog is what makes this craving amazing.
Tallarin verde con bistec 5/10 - I'm afraid so many peruvian restaurants get this dish wrong or inconsistently right. Perhaps it's due to the fact that it can be prepared quickly but poorly or longer with much greater flavor. For a busy service, I can understand why they go the quick route but it just doesn't do it justice. I can cook this patiently and make a much better one. Adding more salt can help it if you absolutely...
Read moreWhat you need to know: Ceviche and chicha morada are great, but the lomo is extra dry if you're getting it delivered.
Ordered via UberEats.
Had a craving for some good old Peruvian food and decided to try this place out due to decent reviews.
Food: I ordered a Lomo Saltado, Ceviche Mixto, Yuca Frita, and a Chicha Morada. First, the lomo - it was ok. They had options on the app as to what level of doneness you want your meat and I said medium, but mine still came well done - chewy and all . Also, there was like next to no sauce on the meat or fries, and some of the rice wasn't cooked either. That being said, there was a very tiny thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the packaging that had soaked into the rice and the flavor was amazing, but the fries and the meat were just extra DRY and chewy and just not very edible unfortunately - very disappointing. I get you don't want everything to get soggy when delivering the food, but I'd suggest at least giving us a little side of the lomo sauce so things don't get soggy, and yet we can still have all that sauce and flavor to pour over it when we do get it delivered. Equally, the yuca frita just wasn't crispy and they were just ok, very stringy yuca - more than usual - however I'm sure the crispy part was due to the drive as well (about 15mins). Regardless, these two were a complete miss for me. However, the ceviche mixto was great! Equally balanced flavors from the leche de tigre, fresh-ish seafood, and just all around exactly what I was craving. Equally, the chicha morada was on point - my only complaint here is that there wasn't enough of the chicha, left me wanting more! Aside from the chicha, everything else came in very large portions, so you get a lot for your dollar here.
Price: With fees and tip, ended up paying $60. Way more than I'd usually pay, but without the fees it was more like $45ish, so that's fairly reasonable considering you get so much food. The lomo was overpriced for the lack of flavor though, maybe it's different in the restaurant.
Overall, I probably wouldn't order lomo or yuca from here again, but their ceviche and chicha morada were definitely something I'd order again if they were the only option in-app. Solid spot but needs to work on their lomo. There's better Peruvian spots around town though if you're craving it. Docked a star because lomo is such a staple dish at Peruvian restaurants around here and they disappointed me big time with it, but they made up for it with their ceviche, so they get to keep 4...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER TO GO! I’m a fan of their food when is eaten at the restaurant. Due to COVID-19 I decided to order to go. LOMO SALTADO is packed all together which mean the juices get socked by the fries and they become mushy and steak gets dried out, When I tried to return it Juan the manage said it was already eaten 50% because onions we gone. Lol this was not my order so I didn’t know onions were missing They were never Eaten, actually they were missing never included by restaurant, even though ONIONS ARE PART OF THE DISH. Also MOST IMPORTANTLY,!!! THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT PREPAR TO DEAL FOR COVID-19. They asked me to bring the orders Back so they can verify it wasn’t eaten (which I can understand) however they took my bag (with both orders into the KITCHEN!!) they brought inside their KITCHEN outside return food which could be exposed WITH COVID-19. Makes me wonder how prepare they are to handle the virus. Instead of them asking me to open it and let show it to them since it came from outside.Anyhow After driving back to them 40 minutes they only wanted to refund me for one order when I brought back both orders. Oh yes the second order was Tallarín Saltado Pollo which we returned because it was dried the chicken. Very disappointed because I like their food but I don’t think I would be coming back since they’re not prepared to handle COVID-19 and they were not loyal to their customers like us. Not once never apologize for the troubles or because I had to drive back to return food or because I just had a bad experience nothing...
