Fantastic first-time time visit! The server was warm and friendly and very helpful!
The coconut soup was a delight! Although the shrimp was slightly overcooked, the broth was a pleasure: light, creamy-yet thin, sweet-but tart. Absolutely flavorful! Didn't seem to find the chicken, could use more + green onion as the description reads.
Thai shrimp were okay. Nice contrast with texture. Shrimp again, overcooked here, but pretty tasty with the mustard served on the side.
The Pad See Ew, named, "Big noodles with soy sauce beef"(not sure why they insist on not properly naming the dishes). As if they are dumbing it down for people. With proper descriptions and knowledgeable staff, guests would become better educated. This dish was savory and satisfying. It is similar to the Chinese dish, Beef Chow Fun. Wide rice noodles are stir-fried in a soy sauce based concoction, usually with oyster sauce, dark soy, a touch of fish sauce, and a pinch of sugar to round it out. It's full of umami and hugs your palette. Eggs, broccoli, and beef come together to make the dish complete.
The atmosphere was modern, open, yet warm and inviting. Wofts of fish sauce permeate the air upon entering, but fades soon after getting settled in.
Great job, Thai Norcross! Very much looking forward to...

The staff here lacks a certain awareness. The restaurant had one party dining here when I was seated. The second a menu hit my table, a different server approached me with "do you need a few minutes?" The answer was " just sat down. Can you back off me?". Another staff member stood directly in front of me with his arms folded and stared at me akwarkly for a solid 5 minutes.
A party of four arrived soon after and was seated DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. They were obnoxiously loud during my entire meal.
Well, I ordered my staple chicken satay and the bbq beef lunch. The chicken was severely overcooked and rubbery. Beef was slightly overcooked and flavorless. The rice was hard not from undercooked, but more like it's been left out too long and it dehydrated.
Two servers surrounded me mid meal like they were stalking me. One in front and the other doubled back behind me to ask me how the meal was... "uncomfortable"
The server who seated me dropped a check in front of me before I even finished chewing. The bill with tip came out to a little under $35. Outrageously overpriced, in my opinion.
I know this restaurant is a neighborhood staple. I'm lucky this isn't my neighborhood.
I'm definitely not...
Read moreThai of Norcross will always hold the top spot for Thai food when it comes to what I recommend in Atl. I've been coming to this restaurant for several years now, and have never left unfulfilled.
The decor hasn't changed much over the years, but is always kept clean and never short of room when I stop by. The one downside to this location is the parking, come early, if possible, especially on the weekends. Although there is a sign that says 'more parking in rear' I've never had to use it.
Fried calamari, this restaurant I can undoubtedly say has the best in my opinion. I've tried fried calamari from numerous places and haven't found one that comes close to how Thai of Norcross makes it. My one and only appetizer I order and the portion they give is quite a bit.
From there it's free game to order whatever on the menu, take into consideration what the party you're coming with likes to eat. But I recommend the BBQ beef and the fried rice, can't go wrong with it. Add some shrimp hot and sour soup for those cold days and a Thai tea on the side. That pretty much sums up my usual order. Hasn't failed me yet.
Definitely would recommend this location for those more small intimate gatherings or first...
