We were so excited to try here, especially since it had such great reviews. I just cannot believe how they’re charging $23 for a “ribeye” with sides (lukewarm beans and rice) and chimichurri, and what we received was a 1/4 inch grizzly, gray piece of meat with a watered down pico, not the chimichurri from the pictures. Absolute false advertising and really unfair to customers.
The guacamole was also $11, and it was lovely but not worth $11. Drinks are served in disposable Dixie cups, which is a confusing message to send when you’re spending so much for guacamole and steak. The empanadas also barely had meat inside- we got the chicken and the birria ones, and while they didn’t taste bad and only cost $3, it was a bummer.
I work in food myself, and I see the potential in this place, but the false advertising has got to be handled, and the menu and pricing needs serious work. I imagine they are having a hard time making a profit with the cost of rent + the cost of food from their supplier. A smaller menu and better costing would make this place shine, because again the potential is totally there. But if you order a $23 steak, it cannot come out looking like a Waffle House steak- it should be at least an inch thick, or else your customers are bummed before they ever put your food in their mouth.
To the owner: I STRONGLY suggest you do some market research to see how both chain and local restaurants are pricing their steaks. Change food suppliers if what you’re getting from them isn’t matching the quality that your menu promises. With a smaller menu, you won’t have to purchase so much product, and that would allow you to have better profit margins. Also, completely remove the boba drinks- it makes no sense to your menu and cannot be profitable. You should also be inspecting every single food supplier delivery to ensure everything they deliver is accurate and high-quality. Remember that you can reject items! So many food suppliers are willing to work with you or give you credits for future orders if what they gave you wasn’t good enough.
I wish you guys luck. So much heart in the food here- just get the business part...
Read moreTERRIBLE! My first visit was within a month of them opening and the food was ok but the service and presentation terrible. I had grace and figured it was because they were new. It took about a year for me to go back and I'm sorry I did. We walked in and the restaurant was empty. The young girl told us to sit anywhere, as she pointed to two table options. We asked what the colombian soda was like and she went behind the counter and showed us a bottle or can. We asked for a bottle and two cups. She brought the can, no cups. We said, we wanted a bottle and two cups so we waited for her to fix that. A table of 3 walked and she sat them. Minutes later she took their drink order. She served their drinks and tool their order. We waited another 7-9 minutes and I had to go find her (she was at the counter) and asked if we order. She said she forgot. We ordered ther bandeja paisa ($23 plate) and it was served on a carton plate with plastic silverware. This dish consists of steak, sausage, pork- all which requires actual silverware. The food was ok, nothing to brag about. She never came back to check on us, and I needed hot sauce and was going to order another soda, but since she was nowhere to be found, I went outside to my car and got my own water. We were ready for the check for 10 minutes and I had to flag her down (she was in the kitchen looking at someone's phone). AWFUL SERVICE! Some people just aren't meant for the service industry. Carton plates and plastic silverware is acceptable for food trucks- not a restaurant. And certaintly now for a $23 plate. I won't be wasting my time or money. Sadly, there aren't other Colombian restaurants in the area, but this just...
Read moreThis restaurant is a wonderful establishment that brings the joy of ethnic cuisine to Lillington. I discovered it through Doordash, but I wanted to experience it in person. My wife and I decided to visit for an early Saturday dinner, and we were delighted with our choice. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a charming woman named Monique, who expertly guided us in selecting the perfect dishes for our first Colombian culinary adventure. I highly recommend the freshly made guacamole, which is simply outstanding. Paired with the complimentary salsa, it creates a vibrant and delicious combination. Every dish was delectable, especially the red beans and rice on the Bandeja Paisa platter. There are so many more items on the menu that I am eager to try. Monique kindly offered us a sample of the Birria, which I believe will be my next order as it was truly exceptional. Although the restaurant is located on a back street with a small storefront and limited signage, it is worth seeking out. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the establishment is clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend this restaurant; you will not be...
