This was a birthday/anniversary surprise that my wife had planned for us. She knew I had wanted to try your restaurant out for some time now so she made reservations. Unfortunately when we arrived we were met with a brunch menu and could not try the menu items that we had seen advertised on your website per the one and only menu listed. After speaking with my wife about the reservation process and reviewing your website there was no mention of a brunch only menu being served on Sundays. I recommend that your website be updated to reflect that information especially when booking a reservation. Even a pop up when a Sunday is reserved would have been great so that we could adjust the day to have the full menu. It was extremely disappointing for my wife who had went and planned this for me/us. We are local to Lima however, if you do want to cater to anybody who is not from this area or visiting, I believe that it should be listed upfront on your website when booking on a Sunday for a reservation. As someone who was looking forward and excited to trying your restaurant this experience didn’t leave the best impression. We did mention this to our waitress and she said she would bring it up to management. The waitress was respectful, polite and professional, this review has no reflection on the service...
Read moreLast December we started communications with Social House about having our summer reunion at their space in July but became concerned about rain. Being open-air we decided it was too risky and made the decision to pivot. They didn’t offer any kind of rain tent, suggesting we could last-minute rent one (which added SO much cost and logistical stress to the event), so it all became too risky and too costly. Social House opted to keep our $675 deposit despite it being 7 months before the event. We’re disappointed they opted to do this as those funds were precious to our group. We understand businesses have policies but a change of plans this far in advance we felt warranted a refund. It’s a very nice space but one with very big inherent weather risks if you’re planning an event there. I don’t think anyone wants to spend thousands of dollars on an event and have it get rained out - especially when the venue offered few affordable options in the event of inclement weather. We’ve left recent follow up messages with no reply for a resolution. I have noted that, in the meantime, ironically, it appears they have purchased a large, outdoor tent. It feels like our group paid for it, in part, if not all, with...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Social House in Lima, Ohio, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish! Our server, Sheryl, was absolutely fantastic. She was attentive, had great energy, and truly excelled at her job—she deserves five stars all by herself!
The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant are remarkable; it makes you feel as though you’re in a bigger city rather than Lima, which is just insane! We started our evening with some delicious drinks: a Lemon Drop, a Cloud Martini, and an Espresso Martini. Each cocktail was a great choice and perfectly crafted.
For food, we ordered the Smash Burger, Mac and Cheese, and a Chicken Sandwich with fries. Everything was amazing! The food was fresh, with each dish offering its own unique taste. The Smash Burger was incredibly flavorful, and the Chicken Sandwich was crispy and equally delicious.
I wholeheartedly give Social House a five-star review! I can only imagine how lively it will be during the summer, as I’m sure it will be bustling with customers. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out...
