Boon Chu Thai is now under the new management, and it's located at the old Spice Thai at 216 W. Ridge Pike in the Shoppers at Limerick. It was my first time dining here, and I opted for a beef pho. It wasn't the best broth I ever tasted, but it was above average. Some beef pieces were rather tough, but it was probably because they were well-done when they came out of the kitchen. I would've preferred rare round steak like most Pho Tai I had before. Also, rice noodles were thin like vermicelli instead of thin flat ones. The portion size was not too large. Service was very good. I was the only one dining in, so I had the whole place to myself. I think it probably will be sometime before I come back here to try other dishes. I was told that they'll have a lunch special menu as well as the new website in the near future. I will welcome that.

New owners/New Menu from old Thai spice location. MUST Try. -This..is the only restaurant my Thai wife hasn't complained in. Lol. She said has to gets 5 stars!! (It's that good). I got the kow Soi? (Yellow curry mild) Next time I'll try it medium because I like a little kick. But the flavor is INCREDIBLE. And my wife is obsessed with papaya salad (very spicy) but you can customize the level of heat and she said they made it e-san style? Which is hard to find I guess? Will definitely be back.

Recommend: curry puff, drunken noodles Ok: massaman curry, pad thai Curry puff could be slightly flakier and have a stronger curry taste but the crust was nice and the potatoes had a lovely texture. Drunken noodles were good but had lots of raw beans sprouts on top. The shrimp were nice though Massaman curry had an okay flavor but I was not about the peanuts or pineapple and the poor was tough. Pad Thai had a distinct sour taste (potentially heavy on the tamarind)

Alright, alright, alright. Let's talk about Boon Chu Thai, folks. Now, I gotta admit, I wasn't sure what to expect. I mean, "Boon Chu"? Sounds like a cough drop a monk would give you. But let me tell you, this place packs a flavor punch that'll knock your crocs right off.

We're talking about legit Thai food here, people. Not that watered-down stuff you get at the strip mall place with the dancing elephants on the sign. This is the real deal. The kind of food that makes you sweat like you're auditioning for a role in the Spice Girls reunion tour.

And let's talk about the Massaman Curry. Oh man, this curry is like a hug from your grandma... if your grandma was a sassy Thai chef who wasn't afraid to crank up the heat. It's rich, it's creamy, it's got more flavor than a basket of those fancy fortune cookies you get at the dim sum place. One bite and I swear I saw a tiny Buddhist monk do a backflip off my taste bud.

Listen, if you're looking for bland food that won't offend your boring palate, this ain't your spot. But if you want an explosion of deliciousness that'll have you saying "Wat!?" (which, apparently, means "what" in Thai), then Boon Chu Thai is the place to be. Just don't wear anything white, you might sweat right through it. Trust me, that's a story you don't want to tell at Thanksgiving dinner. You'll be explaining the whole "Massaman Curry incident" to Aunt...

This restaurant sadly changed management and the food quality and service has been poor ever since. My husband and I loved this spot, every week, sometimes more, we would go and have our favorite dishes. About two months ago, management changed and we have gone about a handful of times, it has been terrible ever since. There is a lady there, often behind the counter or waitressing, who is standoffish, arrogant, uninviting, and at times, argumentative. The dishes mimic each other and it is difficult to tell the difference in taste (see picture-one is Bangkok Noodle and the other is Pad See Ew, both looked and tasted the same, even though they were labeled differently.) Please bring back your old management! Sadly, we do not recommend this...
