Used to really love this course. And unfortunately, because of that, we planned our annual family golf outing here, moving it from a course we had played at for years. The experience couldn’t have been worse, which speaks volumes when all you’re doing is cracking beers and having fun with your family. The owner, a very bitter woman who has no appreciation for the growth of the game, played a massive part in making our time extremely difficult. Despite junior golf being a nationwide accommodation, she refused a 6 year old boy the chance of creating life long memories with his family and friends. After offering to pay the $75 fee for a round of 18 holes, the ingenious individuals within the pro shop claimed that he was an insurance hazard and we were forced to drive him 45 min back home. It’s so unfortunate that such a nice course is run by individuals that have no desire to expand the game of golf and encourage young boys and girls to continue playing and pursuing their dreams. Really really sad.
It’s super unfortunate that this establishment responded to my initial review and deactivated the reply feature. I have nothing against this place. I truly love the course. During our discussions with them, they told repeatedly told us we could go somewhere else, completely dismissing the fact that we brought over 50 people to their business on a rainy Saturday morning. I think if you read the reply they gave its very clear how wrong they were. Not only were none of these options presented to us, but we offered to pay for the 6 year old boy to play 18 holes multiple times and he absolutely had his own clubs. What’s really sad is they knew this prior to sending their reply, because they came up to us and spoke to us about it. Obviously, this shows they are willing to sacrifice their morals to spite a family that had one goal; to provide a fun environment for all players to enjoy a game that our grandfather introduced us to. We won’t be back here and it’s extremely sad because as a family we loved...
Read moreI have been playing golf in this area for the last 15 years. I’ve always liked playing Turtle Creek, it’s a nice track. However, I have played this course for the last time. I will never go back again. The last 4 times there has been an absolute nightmare as far as service. Doug might be the most out of touch Ranger in the business. If you are a late tee time, you might as well get used to him following you around. Changing trash cans in your backswing while teeing off and just overall making his presence known. And dear God, don’t you dare touch the rough with your golf cart. Like don’t even think about it. If you think about it, Doug will know and he will be breathing down your neck before you know it. Additionally, I had to argue with the owner to get a cart key after paying to ride. She said she handed out too many keys and she can’t just keep handing out cart keys. Um, it’s your job. I give you the amount of money you asked for in order to take a cart, and then you give me a key. There really doesn’t need to even be a conversation about it. The people that work here might be the most ignorant people I have come across in the golf industry. Golf carts in before 7:45 when sunset is 8:15. And if your cart is not in by then, good little minion Doug will come out and pull you off the course. Why accept later tee times if you won’t have the time to...
Read moreVery disappointed. Every time I have been there the rangers have been a lot to deal with and do nothing but interrupt and take away from what should be a fun round. My most recent time there, the starter asked me if I knew the cart rules to which I replied, yes. He then asked me to state them, which I did. He then says, ok, now I’m going to repeat them to you. I’m a grown man who has been golfing since my teens. I don’t need or expect to be lectured like a child when I’ve clearly made it known that I understand the rules and expectations. The rangers follow you around the course, parking beside you and watching you hit. Unsurprisingly, they were never able to see us do anything wrong but were relentless in their attempts. We were joined again on the 8th hole (we were only playing 9 and that was known AND discussed when we started our round). We told him we were fine and he could move on and he said that he was going to stay because he wanted to make sure we were able to finish before dark. We teed off early, finished in under 2 hours and were harassed the entire time. If you don’t want people playing the course, stop taking our money. Golf should be FUN. The rangers are turtle creek do everything they can to ruin...
