La Bodega — Restaurant in Lincoln Park

The OWNERSHIP is beyond ghetto. My buddy and I have ate here before and I agree with 100 percent that the girls that run this place are definitely uninterested in helping people when you come through the door their playing on their phones or outside HAVING their own party. Maybe their not interested in helping black people at least but they don't treat thier own that way. The owner lied on on a review and said that my friend was trying to talk to one of their workers and she's absolutely lying because her workers are trying to get green cards. My friend when he came into the building he said nothing to the girls working there this is the owner's way of trying to cover up things and make it seem like people are doing things to hurt them when in actuality they're using their business as a way to try to lure people in to Green cards. The girl that one of my friends was talking to she gave him his number on doordash after dropping and delivering food to him and she told him specifically that she is friends with the workers that work at the restaurant. That has nothing to do with what he did inside the restaurant. It's the owner who is ignorant and racist and doesn't know what she's talking about. Obviously the girl who did doordash who gave my friend her number was probably a worker from their restaurant and he stopped talking to her because he knew she was just trying to get citizenship. My friend had ordered doordash from them before he even stepped into the building and the sausages that he had were burnt. The plantains that they had were overcooked. The chicken that they had was burnt he threw out half an order. Then trying to give them another chance and not just assume that their food is not good he came into the building and then dealt with the restaurant before he ever talk to the girl that gave him his doordash order he didn't even know her at that time. This goes to show that the owner must be a child like the the girls she has working there. People want to use the word God bless you after they know that they are not blessed at all because whenever you try to deceive and lie people you will not be around long. Of course a person is going to compare you to the food that is predominantly in Lincoln Park which is Mexican food. And when you deal with Mexican people not once have they ever tried to lie about anything about their food or their customer service because they give it every time. As an African-American man I don't care about anybody's culture it's about respect and the Mexicans give respect. These Dominican men and women at this restaurant think too much of themselves just because somebody walks in and says hi does not mean that we want your number or that we want to be with you and why would we when we have our citizenship and their trying to scheme their way into one. As an American citizen a person has every right to critique the food which you consume. A person has every right to compare you to the cultural demographics that are around you and how they give customer service in comparison to you. You were that concerned about your business as an owner then don't have people working for your company or associated with your company giving out their number to guys in the neighborhood and then asking them for their green card and then saying that they come from your restaurant so if you want to talk about somebody who's uneducated and ignorant point the finger at yourself because you fit the description. You walk in the place seeing young women outside playing around on their phones not attentive, acting like they’re not too interested to assist you. These were the circumstances each time I went in. The girls in there are more interested in getting back to their private party than actually working. I’ve been there multiples times and they’re out of basic things like a “chicken sandwich”. Their Futura platter made me want to throw it away it was burnt and the meat was tough as rocks. They need someone there also that can speak proper English you can only make out a bit and pieces of their conversation. These girls got the “I need a green card” personalities. I wouldn’t be surprised if none of them are citizens that understand good business ethics in the US. They have the “hurry up and buy” personality. It is possible they may treat their own kind better but they are in a city where there’s Black people, white people and Arabic people come into restaurants and expect proper service. I ordered a carryout online. It is better to go inside and easier but they do take online orders. I got 2 Plato pequenos. 1 with salami and mangu. The other with jamoneta and yuca. I haven't had yuca since visiting PR. However the person who helped me assured it was the same. I also got kipes, empanada de pollo and bollitos de yuca. They were out of the alcapurrias and the empanada de Jamon queso. I didn't like the bollitos de yuca, the flavor was a bit lacking. I enjoyed the mangu and yuca. As well as the jamoneta.
