I use to go to this location when it was under a different name & different management. I will say it does look a lot better inside, it’s clean and spacious and very well lit; it’s also more colorful (although the outside parking area still looks like crap).
I ordered the chicken and fries and my son ordered the shrimp & fries. He said the shrimp were good. As for the chicken, let’s just say it has potential. It was fresh, nice and hot, but it lacked that crunch; in addition, it could use a little salt to bring out the flavors. My favorite thing was the biscuit. The biscuit was soft & buttery; It reminded me of how Popeyes biscuits use to taste about 20 years ago. I could have just eaten 3 biscuits with a Pepsi & I would have been happy.
Since this location had only been open for about a month, I will wait and give them another month to perfect the chicken, if they can just perfect that crunch and add a little salt and keep the biscuit as is, they’ll be unmatched in the Elizabeth/Linden area. Hopefully next time I’ll be able to give the food a...
Read moreThis is our go-to place for late-night snacks meaning 2, 3 or 4 a.m. in the morning after we hit the concert or club scene in Newark. The staff are always always very friendly and accommodating and even still at 3am when people of all walks of like come in or stumble in. My girlfriend and I walk in and they acknowledged us, recognize us and greet us with a friendly smile. The chicken is always fresh hot and juicy and fries cooked to perfection (slightly crispy the was I like it). They also make a gyro pizza slice which I absolutely love and get it along with chicken for me and my girl. And if they're sold out of it they will make one fresh for just for me... how could you not love that. I find myself driving out of my way to go on Route 9 to stop there after a night...

Ordered some fried whiting fish and to me surprise it was fresh, not heavily breaded or seasoned along with some fried chicken wings. In fact I would say that they could use a bit more seasoning. I added salt, hot sauce and tartar sauce to bump up the flavor. But you can always add salt but can't subtract it.
I also ordered the Persian rice instead of fries (the crew is Persian) and that too was under seasoned. I think they should focus on getting the seasoning right since they have the fresh food as a good foundation. It could be a big success if they can get that...
