Driftaway Cafe — Restaurant in Lindenwold

Don’t expect them to care at all cause they are a very successful business but the quality of food at this place has seriously gone down the hill, along with the friendliness of the employees. I order from this cafe every week, have for years. During the pandemic we would visit multiple times a week. Well that is done and over, won’t ever go back. Hate to be this person, but the last two weeks I’ve ordered 3 sandwiches…last week 2 sandwiches had egg shells in them, didn’t call or say anything because accidents happen. But today, I got another 3 breakfast sandwiches, all 3 had egg shells in them and not one piece either. This place is not cheap, $7 for a breakfast sandwich with egg shells. I called the cafe and spoke to Charlie he was very nice. Then I got the opportunity to speak to the manager of the day I guess? Her name was Anna I believe, what a treat she is. Had an attitude the second she got on the phone and said she’d take my name down so I could get a free sandwich next week. I questioned why one free sandwich when all 3 had egg shells in them, also suggested maybe the cook slow down when using the eggs since they must not be paying attention or maybe they don’t care cause they already got the customers money…anyway she let me know that they are human and mistakes happen and there was no way to prevent it when they are making the food. Very rude. Acted like it was an inconvenience that I even called and complained. Maybe she’d love to eat egg shell sandwiches but I do not, especially not for a $7 per sandwich. Ive been to other breakfast places and don’t have to worry about crunching on egg shells and their food is also cooked fresh. I told her to not even worry about the sandwiches cause she got an attitude when I suggested I should get 3 free cause I guess she thought the other people loved eating egg shell sandwiches too, and i was the only one complaining. I let her know I won’t ever be back, like I said doubt her or the owners care. Sad a once nice place has already started going down hill, first the drinks were great then they tasted terrible and then the food was good but then that quality went down too, but they made sure the prices went up, cause everything is more expensive. I understand that, but guess what? People work hard for their money, and don’t want to waste it on a place that doesn’t care about the quality of food they are being served and then they serve the customers with an attitude when they get complaints. Happily will be supporting another local breakfast place...

We decided to host our daughter's first birthday here. They are normally closed on Sundays, but we were able to have our private event on that day which made it really easy to manage. The owners are super nice and everyone was so helpful. Our guests raved about the yummy sandwiches and drinks. The awesome food made up for the heat that we couldn't have anticipated during an early June morning.

The bathrooms were easily accessible to our guests. The staff brought out a fan for our party. They let us decorate the porch area freely. There were so many hooks already installed that hanging banners and decorations ended up being a breeze for us. They even provided a huge fold out table for our gifts which helped with the overall flow of the party. The twinkle lights in the ceiling made the set up even prettier than we imagined. Our guests all said how cute and cozy the porch was - especially with the rocking chairs and mini barrels for drinks.

They held our sheet cake the day before which made the whole set up even easier.

The Barista came out and set up our Playlist for us so our guests had some background music.

Ryan and Kristina: thank you so much for making our daughter's day special. We already were huge fans of your business prior to the party. Many of our guests didn't know about your location but many said they planned on going back now that they know you are there.

If anyone is looking for an awesome place to host a private party, this place is it! I feel that they are competitively priced and would definitely use them again for future occasions.

I swore I left a review but maybe I just daydream about this place. I live around the corner and order from here at LEAST twice a week through doordash. Ive gotten so many friends obsessed and we make it a point to try a different latte every time, which now is almost impossible for me to do since I have ordered from here countless times now.

I wanted to bring attention to the staff though!!! Since I order so much I have had a couple "issues" occur like something out of stock, or what I ordered wasn't in season and they weren't sure why it was still available on DoorDash. Both times an incredibly kind employee called me personally, offered me multiple options as replacements or fantastic suggestions that I trusted in and was happy with every time. Ans they seemed genuinely happy to help me find what I'd like for my morning.

Just wanted to give credit where it was do. Its so nice to see a business like this thrive on good customer service, genuine care for their craft, and its clear they love what they so and what they create. I'm a forever customer for as long as I live here!

PS. My favorite things ever are the butter beer (iced) latte, and anything on a croissant from this place is pure heaven in a flakey crust. Try them out you wont be...
