Happy Garden Chinese Carry-Out — Restaurant in Lindenwold

I've lived here and eaten from there almost 15 years and this place hasn't changed. I'm still going back and forth with this lady over DUCK SAUCE!!! Like really? DUCK SAUCE...

They charge extra for DUCK SAUCE. Only one per egg roll. Seriously she's not kidding.

When I spoke with her about it today she said one per roll. I said other places don't charge and she said well they're different. Even after I said I might stop ordering from them. Doesn't bother her to loose business over a pack of dressing that customarily comes with eggrolls!

I like their egg rolls and wings. Everything else is below standard. I even got food poisoning once about 4 years ago. I ate SHRIMP fried rice. It was horrible and had to call out from work from extreme vomitting and diarrhea with fever.

I have never ordered it again for fear of getting sick again. Even my burps tasted like the food so I'm 100% sure it was rotten shrimp that was mushy but didn't realize that when I ate it.

This was worse than any flu or virus or any sickness in my life! Because it was so painful in addition to the other symptoms but I never made a complaint about it. For what - why bother when I'm sure they would deny it and I can't prove it.

I'm just stating my experience and my opinion. The DUCK SAUCE was the last straw and I will not be ordering from there any more. Unfortunately they are the closest Chinese food place to my house in either direction. That is also probably why they are still in business being walking distance from at least 4 apartment complexes.

I doubt my review will put a dent in their business profit but maybe it will save someone from getting sick. If you do, take the rest of the food with you to the hospital. They can do a bacterial analysis. I wish I did in the beginning but after 3 delirious days of being sick I wasn't...

Wish I had the choice to not give a star! This place is filthy. REALLY RUDDDDE OWNER. I'm not from this area and I decided to eat in instead of taking out because it was a pit stop along my way. I informed the owner as I ordered that I would be eating in, and I wasn't offered a tray, plates, utensils, or cups (not even a bag). I had children with me so I asked if I could have an extra container to feed them from and she charged me 50 cent. How can you run an "eat in", "take out" business...but offer no plates??? The food was DISGUSTING. I gagged from eating it, the rice was over cooked, the fried chicken was cooked to hard and very tiny, and the food is soooo bland, no taste at all..YUCK..I CAN ALMOST TASTE IT AGAIN, WRITING ABOUT IT....TORTURE..The duck sauce and hot sauce taste old, (she was stingy with that btw) bet if I asked for more she'd charge for that too. also they don't even take debit cards??? It's 2018, who declines debit as a method of payment? Even after all of my disappointment I smiled and said thank you several times and she act as if she didn't hear me IGNORANT....Not my fault your food sucks and your business is going down hill. Learn how to treat customers..im upset that I had the opportunity to run and I didn't, I wasted my money..I WILL NEVVVVVER EVVVER IN A MILLION YEARS EAT HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND TO OTHERS.....FOR GREAT CHINESE COME TO BRIDGETON OR...

They do not accept Debit or Credit Card - CASH ONLY - I bet they don’t report it all. The food was just ok… ordered Sweet & Sour chicken combo w/ pork fried rice…. Rice sucked and hardly any pork in it… chicken was mushy on the inside. Also order General So’s Combo platter and rice and chicken was exactly the same as the order…. First time there and now will be the last time…. Food is not good and a business that only accepts cash is shady to me….. I will NOT...
