My experience is with the Lindsborg shop. My sister-in-law sent me in search of both the town and the coffee shop in Aug 2023 while I was passing through the area. Having just returned from Sweden in early August, she has told me of the town and bragged about the coffee shop. Having just continued my overnight stay in Salina, it was a perfect stop for morning coffee. However, after driving up and down the main drag, I finally parked the car and called my sister-in-law to find out the name of the coffee shop, and much to my pleasant surprise, Blacksmith Coffee Shop was tucked into the morning shadow in where I parked. Wonderful staff, and after sampling a couple styles, I continued my journey, but with 2 bags and a cup of coffee to go. I’m in love with both the Blend and Mellanrost (medium roast in Swedish) and have been an on line customer ever since Nice, smooth coffees and a staple for me. Didn’t realize the staff sold me a decaf blend and a few days later while fixing the blend at home, my wife complained of caffeine headaches and it took a couple more days for me to read the label on the coffee bag to realize I was making decaf (it’s absolutely wonderful too), but so needed the caffeine in the morning. I started making the mellanrost, and got on line and ordered the Regular blend, keeping the decaf for evenings! We are fans via on line but hope to travel through in the future to visit Lindsborg and Blacksmith...
Read moreYou Won't Believe This Place Lindsborg, Kansas is charming (very charming) but let's face it, when you're this far off the beaten track in rural Kansas, the last thing you I expect to find is a coffee shop worthy of a big city. On my first overnight visit to Lindsborg I assumed my coffee options would be limited to Casey's Corner Store and a QuickTrip. Luckily I wandered into Blacksmith Coffee.
This is a family run operation where they roast the most amazing beans and turn them into great cups of coffee and espresso drinks. I'm a Breve Latte guy and theirs is as good as I've ever had. And speaking of those roasted beans, the last time I visited I came home with five pounds of them.
I travel a lot. Usually to major metro areas like LA, Vancouver, Chicago, NYC, etc... Blacksmith Coffee would have a line out the door in any of...
Read moreThis coffee shop is fantastic! The building alone is worthy enough for a peek in to learn a little about the history (it's on the National Register of Historic Places), but the coffee business itself also has a neat story as a start-up and how it has become successful. All of the offerings are really good too! They have your expected coffee shop selection, as well as Italian soda, smoothies (including Lingonberry smoothie in honor of Little Sweden, USA) and other small food items. You can buy coffee there whole bean or grounded, and sometimes they have a small coffee roasting demo. The whole atmosphere is very rustic and perfect for the location and history due...
