My friend and I went in to order food. I am a food critic and we do reviews on businesses. I did not have my binder with to show who I was. We were at this restaurant bakery 06/01/23. I was treated pretty bad. My friend had the brunette help her I was told she was nice. I had the lady with light brown blonde hair. Not to friendly, very argumentative. I ordered the deluxe sandwich. The sandwich says ham, turkey, roast beef or veggie. It does not say pick one ( ham, turkey, roastbeef) the lady argued with me. I have pork allergies. I asked if I could get the sandwich with no ham. She said “I will charge you for turkey then there is another charge for roastbeef.” I told her the menu doesn’t say pick a meat it says the 3 meats or veggies. She still continued to argue with me so I had to change my order.. My friend ordered the tune wrap. So I ordered the tuna wrap and chicken dumpling soap. The soup was good, The spread with the 3 pieces of bread was amazing. Then things went bad again with the same lady. My friend saw her roaming around with the wraps and asked her if it was for me. Reminder here: My friend ordered the same with a different cashier. This lady saw my friends wrap and said “no the wrap in her hand was not mine,”I reminded her I also ordered the wrap she kept arguing the one in front of my friend was mine. I had to repeat no my friend also ordered one with a different cashier. Finally she gave me my wrap. The young African American male is completely friendly, out going, very helpful. I only saw the brunette behind the counter and the light brown, blonde lady after she was done with me I did not see her come from behind the counter either. This young man would make sure everyone was good, asked if any one need anything, refilled my beverage, very helpful young man. You need more employees like this gentleman. Food I give 3 stars due to its not what I wanted, and it was ok, and soup was good. Service with this lady was horrible so I gave 1 star. I gave 3 stars for atmosphere for the young friendly gentleman. Please either fix the menu for this sandwich, or if it is exactly how it says it is supposed to be made per the menu with the 3 meats or vegys . Please have your employee on the same page and not argue with the customers. And if the menu is wrong instead or it saying you get the 3 meats or vegys if that’s wrong please add you get to choose 1 meat or vegys. Your menu does not state pick 1 meat or...
Read moreTL;DR - Pastries are not their strong-suit and are overall lackluster, and if you aren't a regular, don't expect much in terms of service. One visit was one too many; I won't be back.
I stopped by on a Monday morning as the bakery I was hoping to stop by originally was closed on Mondays, so I was initially just happy to find that Taste of Scandinavia had fresh bakery items on a Monday, a huge plus.... before I got there.
Food: As of about 8:45am they still had an ok selection of pastries so I got a half dozen assorted Danishes and doughnuts for a Monday morning treat for my team. I had a chocolate filled danish drizzled with chocolate which, sounds like a GREAT start, but boy was it disappointing. The pastry was old, chewy in that gross way that pastries get when they are just about ready for the garbage. Add to that all the chocolate had leaked out so the inside was just a stale remnant of the chocolate that used to live there, leading to and old-tasting tragedy of pastry. I've had far better gas station pastries.
Service: Barely there. The employees just stood behind the counter chatting with the regulars while I waited to even be acknowledged. When they finally were done catching up, they started talking to the regular who was behind me before finally greeting me. As soon as I noted I was done with my order the employee started chatting it up with yet another regular. It was clear I was of no interest to them and, if anything, be being a paying customer was just getting in their way... what an absolute joke.
Atmosphere: If I didn't have to eat the food, and didn't have to try and get service from employees, this seems like it might be an ok place...
Read moreCame here for the 1st time with my mom for breakfast today. She really liked this place & wanted me to give it a try. We both ordered the loaded hashbrown chorizo breakfast. When our food came it was warm, not hot. The hash browns weren't crispy/brown and worst of all, there was NO CHORIZO in it whatsoever, just a small amount of bacon. It was pretty disappointing, especially for $15.49 each meal when we ordered it for the chorizo specifically. The lady taking our order had raved about how good it was which was why we ordered it. I even went up to the counter to let someone know about the main ingredient missing from the meals we ordered, and I was met with "oh thats too bad". No offer to remake the meal correctly or rectify it in anyway. I even asked the lady to inform the cook that they missed putting the chorizo in the meal and she said she would, yet never walked in the back entire time we were there just stood at the register. Mind you, when we arrived, we were the only people in line ordering food.
Additionally, I ordered a coffee. The coffee container off to the side was empty. I had to let someone know. She brought out a full container of coffee out right away, yet the coffee wasn't even hot, just warm, like it had been brewed earlier and was just sitting.
The whole experience was pretty disappointing sadly. We did also purchase some pre-made bakery items to go. They were both as expected, and they were delicious. That was probably the only positive experience we had. For reference, we arrived 3-4 hours prior to close and they were not very busy until we were leaving, then there was a line of...
