Well, what can I say.... for a town the size of Little Falls, we do not have many choices to choose from that ARE NOT: bar food, fast food, affordable, closed during daytime hours or buffet type setting. When I am asked, "Where do I want to go?" for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, hands down, I am choosing Donna's Big John's Restaurant. At this eating establishment, there are pros and cons. I am the type of reviewer who will try my best to give you both sides of the coin.
Cons: Donna, the owner, for 98.5% of the time, runs the whole show from taking orders, cooking the orders, and serving the orders. By running the business this way, she can be a little testy...BUT if you are someone who is all about the food and cost, then you gotta try her TINY TINY little restaurant. Love ya, Donna, I'm just keeping my review honest. Folks, this is a tiny mom and pop shop, minus "the pop" on the west side of town, that serves GREAT FOOD at a really decent price with a VERY LIVELY atmosphere. This tiny little restaurant is so laid back that instead of waiting forever to get a refill on your coffee or pop, you can get up and go get it yourself, that is once Donna gets to know you.
Pros: The price, the atmosphere (which is rather funny sometimes when you sit and listen to the FRIENDLY banter), the quantity and quality of the food served, and the VERY laid back hometown feel. I mean, really folks, I was just there yesterday (8-25-24), and I saw on her menu that it stated 1 egg and toast for $3.50!!! I would say the price line of this restaurant is $1 to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stopped here for my first time after passing many times with 5 kids ages 4-14. The cook was the only one there. She was very slow and confused about the register. I gave her my card she tried running it several times, I eventually gave her cash. We ended up with okay food, but one extra meal hmm, curious. I watched as the next people came in same confusion with the register. Eventually I believe it was the owner who came in. She was able to successfully run the card of those people and the place seemed to quickly start to get organized. I would try the place again as they seemed to have a great menu. I would however walk out if the same woman/cook was alone. If I was the owner I think I would look for a new cook and NOT leave her alone if I had to keep her. I was told by a woman who was there prior to me coming in who came to the register while this confusion was going on to cancel her order because it was taking so long that the owner would be embarrassed by what was going on in the place while she wasn't there. So overall strange first experience BUT would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy MIL and I went there for lunch. First experience for both of us. We each had the Big John and it was very tasty! And filling, but we didnāt want to waste a morsel of it! I had tater totās which I ordered extra crispy and thatās exactly how they were! YUM! Donna is cook, server and cashier and she does it all and still has time to joke around with her diners. It was nice to patronize a āmom and popā diner versus a chain restaurant. We will definitely go back...
