This was my first visit to the Kanis location and it was not a very pleasant experience. The young lady who took our order was not very friendly and she couldn't answer our questions about the menu items. The kitchen employees were very loud. So loud, that their conversation overpowered my conversation with my mom in the dining room. I was sitting at the first booth/table combo just past the drink fountain and I fell on my left hip, after getting my shoe got caught in a chair that was placed way too close to the booth. That chair shouldn't be there. Someone is going to get seriously hurt one of these days. My fall made a pretty big commotion and several diners came over to help me up but not ONE single employee came to see what had happened, nor did they ask if I was alright. I fell right in the middle of the aisle, where there was a clear sight line from the pickup window. Surely, one of the employees noticed me lying there on the floor. Before leaving, I placed a To Go order and the shift supervisor spent a couple of minutes looking for the employees who should have been at the front counter. She eventually gave up on finding them and hesitantly took my To Go order. While I'm waiting, I had to listen to a very defiant employee arguing with the night manager, who had just arrived. The employee was complaining about being there since 5am and he flat out refused to follow his Manager's directives. It wasn't even 1:00 PM yet but this guy was apparently not going to do anything else since he had been working for almost eight hours already. The food was okay. I got the turkey, avocado, bacon sandwich and my mom got the tuna salad sandwich. Her bread was hard and not very appetizing. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Kanis location in Little Rock any time soon. It is the complete opposite of all the other Panera Breads that I...
Read moreI was in your restaurant today at around 12:30 to 12:45. That was the time I was at your front counter. At that time a older female African American employee who was at the rightmost register seem to be having some serious difficulties. Apparently she was having some serious issues with one of the other employees at the restaurant. This is not a criticism but an observation. She was vocally expressing her feelings about this person and how she felt she was being mistreated by this person or should I say in the current vernacular disrespected. It was obvious to me that she had some serious issues with this other person. During all of this there was also a Caucasian employee who was trying to comfort her but she did not want to be comforted by this person. The point of all of this is to say that she did this in front of customers or I should say a customer. It was just me. Fortunately I was the only customer there at that time. If there had been a lot of customers there it would have created a very uncomfortable experience for people who have come to your restaurant for not only the great service but the great food. The other point is there were also in addition to the Caucasian female who was trying to comfort her three other African American female employees also at the front counter. No one seemed to want to take the responsibility to say Miss whoever it was you need to step away from the counter or go to the manager and have the manager takes a person aside. This incident will not keep me from coming to your restaurant but it is important to have people at the front counter of your business who portray the image that you want it to have. Thank you and I hope whatever was going on will be resolved to everyone's...
Read moreFirst thing is the food. As a classically trained chef I tend to critique everything like I am the one preparing the dish. In today's market where convenience rules the chain restaurants, Panera Bread is in a class of its own. The bread was impeccable. But you would figure it would be, as it's their namesake. So now comes the toppings for my sandwich. I had the buffalo chicken melt. Everything was well balanced. Just enough buffalo sauce to tickle your throat so that you didn't forget it had hot sauce in it while still being able to taste each item by itself. This was probably the best sandwich I have had since a 45 minute wait for a grilled cheese in Cleveland. That's right I waited 45 minutes just to get a table so I could order a grilled cheese. But that's a whole other story. My girlfriend ordered the chicken Caesar salad a new sandwich that was their take on the classic flatbread pizza. I pride myself on my Caesar dressing and think I have the best, with that said this dressing was well balanced and with the freshness of the romaine and the still sizzling chicken. She said it was better than mine. Her sandwich, like mine was beyond reproach. My only issue with Panera Bread is they aren't in Hot springs and the mushroom bisque needs to be a full...
