My first and last experience with this establishment. I was greeted by the kind man, whom I assume is hispanic, at the host station. I sat at the bar for almost 10 minutes and no one spoke to me. 3 separate "ladies" walked past me and didn't say hello, offer a menu, ask if I needed a drink, not even a friendly smile or nod. The kind gentleman had to finally give me a menu and, after even more waiting, eventually come take my order. These same "ladies" paid no attention to me while several other guests were greeted with kindness and smiles. I finally noticed I didn't look like the other customers and attributed this to the lack of acknowledgement. Another lady came from the back and within seconds said hello and smiled. This lady did in fact look like me. I thanked her for speaking to me and being kind. I couldnt take any more. It wasn't until I decided to cancel my order that one of the "ladies" I mentioned earlier finally acknowledged my presence and asked "Is something wrong?" As much as I wanted to give her a piece of my mind and let her know how wrong they were, I simply said "No." and thanked the two individuals who had showed me kindness before leaving. I would recommend treating all customers with kindness and respect moving forward.
Update I called and spoke with the GM Eric. He was very pleasant and attentive. I appreciate how he listened to me and showed empathy for my experience. He even offered to make it right if I choose to visit this location again. I truly hope his kindness rubs off on the test of the...
Read moreIm absolutely complaining, but let me start this off by saying Keeley (I hope I spelled your name right), the manager of this location, is above and beyond amazing and incredibly sweet. I would recommend this place solely for her, and she is also this only reason I'd give this place 5 stars, even though our experience with our original waiter merits a zero. The other waitresses that have served my fiancé and I over the last two years have all been awesome. However, Colt in particular is a nightmare. After waiting for ten minutes, he finally decides to come take our order. Another server had to take our drink order because of our wait. On top of that, Colt went to several other tables who sat AFTER us to bring them appetizers and drinks twice, and pass right by our table, even though we tried to get his attention. Not only did our appetizer get received by his big table, he purposefully didn't submit our actual dinner order in the system. We waited almost 50 minutes to be told by the manager that our order was never placed. He should either be trained better or fired. There's no reason to act like that. I've been serving for over 8 years, and I know how to at least read a room and check on all of my tables in a timely and fair manner. But to blatantly mess our order completely up and act like a jerk? I'd be terminated at my job for that. So if you get assigned Colt at this location, and you're LGBT, it's probably best to request a different server.
To Keeley and the other waitresses: Thank you....
Read moreToday my Brazilian friend and I dined at US Pizza in the heights for the first and last time. We paid our bill in cash at the table and left the restaurant in conversation.
We were walking to our car when the host / waiter startled us by running out of the restaurant to yell at us for ‘not paying for our food’. We explained that we left the check in the booklet at the table. The man accused us of lying.
We went back inside to show him our paid bill. In front of the entire dinner crowd he loudly embarrassed us by causing a scene and accusing us of stealing while he was looking for the bill which was no longer on the table.
One of the other waiters (in the back of the restaurant) heard him and said she had picked up the check and showed it to him.
My Brazilian friend, mortified by this, told him, in Portuguese because her English is very limited, that she was not a thief. He replied by saying that he doesn’t speak Spanish.
Two middle aged women on an after church outing are likely not going to steal a small pizza. I don’t really care what the crowd thought of me because I didn’t do anything wrong. But I didn’t appreciate my dear friend being humiliated. The dignity of your customers is worth...
