Decided to pop by with my partner and our dog to enjoy some happy hour beers and food on a beautiful day out in the beer garden today. The happy hour is what drove us in today so we came hungry and thirsty with enthusiasm. Our first round of beers were great they did take about 10-15 minutes to arrive which isn’t too bad, our spirits were high. We struggled to find the happy hour food listed on the picnic table we were calling our home base. We asked our beer delivery man where it was located and he wasn’t too sure and checked in with the bar to see if we could order there and have the food delivered to our table. So I proceeded to order another round for us (In anticipation for our beers to be back for me to enjoy once I was finished with ordering. Trying to get ahead of the waited curve) We were rolling with the punches and I went to check with the bar. The beer tender stated how he also wasn’t so sure about the happy hour food prices if they could extend their service to the outside patio (literally 30/40 feet away from said bar and kitchen window). He did check with management and came back with a the result of no possible way to accommodate service to the outside beer garden. It was stated happy hour food must be ordered and eaten inside the building… well we had a dog with us.. oh well. Still staying positive we patiently waited our next round back at home base (another 10/15 minutes later) we chatted and pondered the rationality behind denying happy hour food service to the outdoors. We really couldn’t come to a logical solution and shared a few laughs together. Hopefully we are just outliers in this odd scenario and maybe everyone else that arrives here already understands the limitations of service. It just doesn’t make sense to us and we wanted to share our thoughts and prevent others from wandering down the same path. All of the personal we dealt with were excellent they were just following the rules. No issues with the staff just...
Read moreI've only become a customer during the limited pandemic reopening, so my comments are all in the context of this covidiocy in which we're all living right now.
If you want to dine in, you'll be making a reservation. This is a hard and fast rule, but hey, at least reservations actually mean something these days. I find the staff to be very organized at managing the reservations, and it's nice to know that a seat is legitimately reserved for me.
Staff takes great care of other pandemic-related details. For example, the bar has two tap planes, but only pours from the one faced away from customers at the bar. This is an above-and-beyond step which shows careful consideration, and it's appreciated.
The food and drink are excellent. Sure, you pay a bit more for the fare than at other nearby bars, but the difference in quality is powerfully obvious. Plus, elk chili, elk burgers? Yes, yes let's do all of that.
Service is perfect.
Indoor sound control is better than I've encountered anywhere in the Denver area. They do not appear to get into loudness contests between human and musical din, which means I can relax for a couple hours indoors on a Saturday night without leaving half deaf. This is truly appreciated.
The bathrooms are excellent, too. Touchless faucets, and touchless dispensers for soap, paper towels, and sanitizer. Not only that, they put something on the door's base so you can open it with your foot. Almost perfect, but I had to pull one star because of those Dyson Airblades. When confronting a respiratory pandemic, it makes no sense to me that customers can aerosolize the contents of their hands, and I feel the Airblades should be disabled at least until the pandemic subsides.
Course, I don't make the law, I just pretend to be a reviewer. I still love this place and will patronize it on...
Read moreThis was a really unfortunate experience. I love Breckenridge brewery (frequent the Breckenridge location often) and this was disappointing.
Stopped by for lunch with our pup and was told that there are allowed in the restaurant which makes sense. I was expecting to sit on the back patio but they actually have an outdoor green space with picnic tables which is the only place dogs are allowed because they're patio is enclosed. Again, this is totally fine and the sitting area is really beautiful. I would recommend it if you're rowing just to get drinks.
I was told that the QR code on the tables would be how we ordered our food and that it would be brought to us. I thought what that meant is that it would bring up the menu for the restaurant but in actuality they only serve food from their food truck in the outdoor area. Additionally, they don't bring you your food which is not a big deal except that The QR code prompts you to tip 25% on your order (which I did thinking they were going to bring me my food, but it turns out you get it yourself). Some of their food items were marked as out of stock when looking at the menu online , but when I went to pick up my food it turns out they had these items if you ordered from the food truck window.
I ordered a quinoa bowl which was $14 and ended up being close to 20 with tip and tax. It was inedible. The portion sizes were so small that I would have been hungry still anyway had I finished it, but I couldn't. There was some greens and almost no quinoa, a wilted cucumber, some sort of tasteless yellow pepper looking thing.
All in all if you are looking for a good vibe outside to drink a few beers- This would be a good spot. But if you want to or have to sit outside, I don't recommend...
