Update 5/4/2025
Unfortunately now that Simone’s is more popular it seems to have issues with consistency. I didn’t want to post this update but after multiple disappointing pastries I need to knock a star.
Chocolate eclair: almost inedible. It tasted so overbaked; crunchy and not in a good way, almost stale tasting, and there was barely any filling. Actually one of the worst eclairs I’ve had in my life, which at $8 I was kind of angry about, especially since eclairs are one of my favourite pastries ever. 0/10 would not recommend. Kouign Amann: still one of my favourite pastries but the difference from one to the next can be stark. See photos - both are plain Kouign Amann, and yet one is significantly smaller and misshapen compared the other, and the larger one is veering on burnt at the edges. Miso mushroom danish: I have had some that tasted like raw dough in the middle and made me feel a bit ill after eating. I considered reaching out but I hadn’t had issues with Simone’s pastries at that point and wanted to just support her, so ended up not saying anything. Thankfully recent danishes seem to have been baked well (though I also stopped purchasing them as frequently), but all these issues add up so I can no longer stand behind my previous rave review.
Last month I also found a hair tightly wrapped around my Blueberry Earl grey Kouign Amann. I reached out and Simone was incredibly apologetic and offered to refund the pastry or give me another one for free, and said she’d be tightening measures to ensure it doesn’t happen again. It’s not a bad remedy, but still it was gross to experience.
9 times out of 10 the pastries are great. But for the price you’d really want 10/10 perfection every time. I’m thrilled this place is getting more media attention and increasing in popularity, but I do hope they can improve in terms of consistency.

I just need to put a warning out there for anyone who’s thinking of trying one of Simone’s pastries: beware. You may (will) develop an addiction to her mouthwatering creations that may (will) cause both your wallet and waistline to suffer.
Some of the pastries to be most wary of include but are not limited to: Earl Grey blueberry Kouign Amann Almond croissant Pistachio croissant Chocolate orange malasada.
Is it 1000% worth it? Yes. Not to mention the children’s play area is absolutely wonderful and perfect for parents to bring their children. In case you have mentally steeled yourself to venture over despite these warnings, I suppose we’ll see each other soon. Nice to meet...
Read moreI first tried Patisserie By Simone last summer and have been hooked ever since. Her croissants/cruffins are to die for - literally the best I've ever had - even compared to those we've tried in our European travels. We've tried her sweet treats and savory treats as well as her small cakes - all of them delectable! Patisserie By Simone is my first go to to bring something special for a gathering. I was just there this morning to pick up all kinds of goodies for a Galentine's Brunch. I LOVE sharing a good thing - and this place is more than a good thing! We are SO lucky to have such incredible goodies right here in town. Keep doing what you are doing Simone! You work incredibly hard and it shows. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with our...
Read morePatisserie by Simone is my absolute favorite bakery in town (and of all time). Whatever you decide to get will taste amazing. You can taste the love the amount of hard work that goes into baking each an every one of her items. The bakery itself is adorable and quaint. The customer service is amazing! Always incredibly nice and have a smile on their face. I love their chocolate almond croissants, the burrata pesto and heirloom tomato danish, s'mores Malasadas, macaroons, and really everything! I cannot say enough amazing things about this patisserie. Simone is an amazing addition to Livermore! If you're visiting you have to stop and get pastries, if you are a local you have to go, if you want to brighten someone's day with pastries this is the...
