Locanda Wine Bar — Restaurant in Livermore

I was really excited to try Loconda Wine Bar. Two of my friends raved about their past meals so they set up our friend group ( 5 of us) for a dinner last Thursday 7/17/25 at 6:30. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter. The other 4 women ordered wine or specialty drinks. I ordered a vodka on the rocks with 2 splashes of cranberry. I was disappointed to get a tall drink that was basically cranberry juice. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to spoil the evening.

We ordered our dinners: Two women had salmon with mashed potatoes. One woman ordered the Branzino with mashed potatoes, and one woman ordered chicken with mashed potatoes. I ordered lasagna. Our meals came and instantly they all said their mashed potatoes were ice cold. My lasagna was luke warm but I thought it was ok. A server took their plates and brought them back with a bowl of mashed potatoes that looked like soup. I ate my lasagna which was delicious but cold by the time their food came back. Their potatoes were soupy and now their fish and meat were cold. Two of these women raved about their prior meals but were extremely disappointed. The server who brought their meals back was not happy about it and actually seemed bothered by all of it. Our waiter was very friendly but was very busy so we didn't even bother to tell him how disappointed we all were. We go out often together and I have to say, this has never happened to us before. I can't remember one person sending their meal back not less all four. I should have asked for my lasagna to be warmed up also. The restaurant was very busy, but serving cold food to everyone was unacceptable. I just looked at their reviews and read several reviews that people complained about their cold food. I hope the restaurant figures out how to serve warm...

Such a beautiful place with so much potential. A restaurant we used to frequent for its exceptional food and service has took a complete downfall! What happened?!! We walked in on a Saturday night to find it not busy at all (first bad sign). We were seated at the couch area after being told the tables are reserved, which was fine. Then, our food arrived cold. The pizza looked as though it was reheated and the taste was incomparable to how it used to be. The kids butter and cheese pasta came without cheese. When we asked for cheese, we were given some powder. I only hope wasn’t the cheap cardboard you buy at Safeway since it wasn’t freshly shredded. The sea bass used to be served in a spiral shape and had such clean taste. Now, it looks like the frozen filets you buy at Costco and even tastes fishy not fresh. As the meal went on the tables were still empty. We confronted the seating host who said the reservations are coming. You can guess. . tables never filled up. We were offered lemon cello and gelato to try to compensate. Lemon cello was always given at the end of every meal, so not sure why they tried to compensate with that. It was rather offensive how we were treated after being such good paying customers leaving extremely generous tips. Our last visit wasn’t good, but we gave it another try only to find it worse. It’s been a couple years, but I have to say we were at the local car show here in Livermore. We went in here for steaks. First, we couldn’t get anybody to even seat us. They’d walk right past us not say anything.. Then when we finally got seated, we couldn’t get any water. We couldn’t get anybody to service anything and this is not exaggerating one bit. We finally flagged somebody over to bring us some water. When the steaks came, I wouldn’t have paid for them if I was paying., They were the color tan, no grilling as if they microwaved them. They had the nerve to charge $60 plus for steak. What a waste and a shame for the poor animal that provided that meat that they cannot prepare.. Absolutely the worst Customer service I asked if we were invisible. Food is terrible and overpriced. Typical Livermore restaurant. Food service quality atmosphere does not match the sky high prices and I’m not cheap. I just like a good value. If I owned this restaurant, I’d be ashamed of what me and my friend went through just to patronize this restaurant.
