I'm happy to have this place close since I'll be back. I was surprised that its predecessor, Thai Chef (which wasn't open long), recently closed down and carried a new sign: Ros Ni Yom. I apparently was a little over-eager to try it, because when I called Saturday night they let me know they weren't "open" until Monday. However, the man quickly followed up and said he could still make me some food if I wanted. I wanted. I picked up some yellow curry and pad thai and was graciously offered some Thai iced tea while I waited. When the chef brought my food, he too was very pleasant and shook my hand, introduced himself, and solicited feedback on what I thought. The yellow curry was great, and while the pad thai wasn't the most flavorful I've had (I like strong flavors), my wife and I both really enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I were driving through Livermore and stopped here for lunch - so glad we found this place! The food here is authentic and the menu features dishes you can't easily find at othet Thai restaurants. Service is great, portions are generous, and we will definitely be returning. Khao Ka Moo: Pork was very tender! It's a tad bit too sweet but the sauce helps cut some of that sweetness. Great balance! Khao Pad Gai Tod: Crispy chicken was crispy and delicious. The fried rice was simple but so flavorful! Such a great combo. Thai Tea: I loved that it wasn't overly sweet and it tasted like tea still (sometimes places dilute it too much and it's too sweet). Cold, creamy, and refreshing.

This small restaurant is going to be my top Thai restaurant in Bay area. Their wok technique is simply the best! Full of grilled and smoky flavor from fried or sauteed menus like Kana Moo Krob. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you can immediately smell it is so packed full of the aroma, fumes from foods they have been cooking. Having experienced so much, i know how well they are cooking. What stand out to me is that spicy, salty, sugary tastes are not overpowering, dominant. I love the way the chef cooks Thai foods. It was made fresh, made to order. Definitely hidden gem in East Bay!

We stop at this unassuming Thai street-food bistro for a sit down meal whenever we go through Livermore. Mostly that's during road trips, so we try to time to stop at this freeway adjacent hot spot. We've been three or four times, so here's what I've eaten there.

For appetizers, try the deep fried pumpkin, chicken satay, or pork rib appetizers- which are big portions for sharing. Everything is so good I want to try the rest.

For mains, try the beef boat noodle soup (similar to Vietnamese phô), the kana moo kra (pork belly and Chinese broccoli - our favorite), the Pad Kee Mao chicken, or Pad Thai prawns. Every dish is a winner, so you can't go wrong with anything else from the menu.

They also have excellent thai iced tea and our favorite dessert: mango sticky rice.

You can hear the food cooking and smell the authentic spices. However, because it's authentic street food you should ask for light spice if you're sensitive.

Ros Ni Yom rivals our favorite Thai restaurants from around the bay area. If you live nearby, you have a treasure. Otherwise stop in for lunch or dinner and you won't be disappointed in...

I wish I didn’t have to give a 1 star review because I have come here about 30 times, and my thorough reviews on google have been known to completely destroy businesses, but this has to be written.

Yesterday I went here and had a noodle dish (pad kee mao) and my friend asked about his dish when it was delivered “is there any MSG in this?” And the young waitress said “yes” and my friend sent back both of our food to be remade. She then returned with the new dishes and barked at us “we sometimes use MSG and sometimes we don’t! You have to ask next time!” We are used to coming here and not getting MSG put in our food so that treatment was uncalled for and restaurants should not put MSG in their food without stating it clearly on their menu.

If anyone thinks that MSG doesn’t affect people, then perhaps that is the case with you and consider yourself lucky. For me, my friend, and many others it affects us quite badly. Horrible anxiety for hours, inability to get to sleep, and horrible diarrhea the next day.

Won’t be coming back here...

Food: Very tasty food, also VERY spicy! The person taking our oder didn't ask how spicy and as a first timer here, I didn't know to ask for mild. But definitely very flavorful dishes overall. Normally we would share everything with our small children, not today.

Green curry- SPICY Drunken Noodle- SPICY Tom Yum Soup- Mild Tom Yum Rice- Mild Pumkin App - Kid Friendly Satay- Kid Friendly

Location: Not very inviting, restaurant is in a parking lot shared by a gas station and other fast food restaurants. Not clean enough to eat outside. We traveled quite a bit so drove away to a local park.

Service: Well, I purchased $80 worth of food and when I requested hot sauce, she gave me one small container. After tasting the food, I'm not sure if she only gave me one knowing our food was already crazy spicy or if she was simply holding out on condiments. Also, I told her we would be eating in our car and didn't include disposables. So I took one star off...
