The Hangar SFO — Restaurant in Livermore

When The Hangar SFO popped up on my IG feed a few weeks ago, I got so excited to check them out! Realizing they weren’t quite open yet, I started following them so I wouldn’t miss any opening news. Fast forward a couple weeks, my husband and I made dinner plans close by and when we saw people inside I made him stop to check it out. We walked right in and were instantly welcomed! Turned out they were in the very early stages of soft opening. They were so kind to give us a tour and answer questions about their place and when they would open.

The space is beautiful and feels so open with the tall sliding glass doors. There is ample indoor seating, an outdoor patio with seating, and a section that can be enclosed with sliding glass doors. The aesthetic of the space, and the warm hospitality from the owners instantly made me even more excited for them to open.

What impressed me even more, was that they reached out via IG remembering that I mentioned a birthday coming up, and helped me plan a group dinner.

I had a group of 15 and we fit very comfortably in the private space. The sliding glass doors make it feel private but not stuffy. The check in process was easy- show your ID, get wrist band for the beer taps.

The beer selection is huge! The dispensing system was so easy to use. I love that it’s a self poor so that you can try as much or as little as you want. They also have a fully stocked bar, with delicious sounding cocktails on the menu. I did not try any of the cocktails (yet!), as I was having too much fun with the beer wall.

The food menu was limited since they were still in their soft opening, but everything we tried was very good. I had the beet salad, chicken pasta, and their burger. All of which tasted great! The ribs and pork nachos were also a huge hit.

The hospitality and service here was incredible! They had the private space decorated with a birthday sign, balloons and custom “Happy Birthday” menus with my name on them. The gentleman taking care of our party was so patient and engaging. They easily accommodated my larger group with separate tabs. I even got a birthday lemon blueberry bread pudding type dessert and a birthday card!

The Hangar SFO is in a great location, right next to the outlets, with ample parking. The beer taps are fun, they have a full bar, and very fresh food. Their warm hospitality and incredible service will have me flying with them for many...

The first time I came here, I had a great impression. But this second visit was very disappointing: When my friends arrived, the table next to us was empty. I asked the staff if we could move there, but they immediately said it would cost an extra 20% service fee. Very unreasonable. The staff locked the door without checking if anyone was outside. We were standing there with a child and had to knock to get back in. This is unacceptable. Be very careful with the bill – they tried to overcharge us.

The only positive side was the server who actually took care of our table – he was very kind and professional, and I truly appreciate his service.

Overall, though, this visit left us very uncomfortable. Definitely not...
