In the heart of Livermore, CA, nestled amongst the Livermore Outlets, lies this hidden and exquisite gem and it transports you to the vibrant land of India with its authentic cuisine, warm hospitality, and elegant ambiance. There are ample parking spots in the front and the back side and you definitely would be able to find one for yourself.
The ambiance at the restaurant is warm, inviting, and transports you to the heart of India. The vibrant décor, adorned with traditional Indian motifs and artifacts, creates a sense of authenticity and charm. The friendly and attentive staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that you feel right at home. Shoutout to Vishal who was serving our table and made sure we got nothing but the best of the best when it came to our meals. Also with all that vibrant food and interiors, they do have robots moving food from the kitchen to the table where the server takes over. Pretty cool intersection of humans and bots.
The menu at Taj Mahal Flavors of India is a symphony of flavors, celebrating the rich culinary heritage of India. From the ever so famous butter chicken and tikka masala to specialties like bhukhara kofta or Soya chaap, each dish is a testament to the meticulous preparation and use of fresh, high-quality ingredients and their masterful use of spices. Each dish is bursting with an explosion of aromas and flavors, carefully balanced to tantalize the taste buds. From the warming cardamom and cinnamon to the fiery chilies and fragrant turmeric, the spices take your senses on a journey through the diverse regions of India.
We ordered a plethora of items that included, a couple veg platters, avocado jhalmuri, bukhara kofta , kadai paneer, dal makhani, soya chaap with some garlic naan and lachha paratha. Before i forget to mention, we started the evening with a few mocktails (Virgin Mojito, Passionfruit Mojito, Raspbery Mojito to name a few). The presentation of the food at is as captivating as its taste. Vibrant colors, intricate garnishes, and meticulously arranged dishes make every meal a feast for the eyes. This attention to detail reflects the restaurant's commitment to providing a truly immersive dining experience.
We were celebrating a birthday in the group and they were kind enough (big shoutout to Vikas and his team) to get us a Hot chocolate lava cake, on the house.

Read moreI attended my friend’s 50th birthday party at Taj Mahal Livermore, and the experience was extremely disappointing.
The owner misbehaved with one of our friends and shockingly demanded that the host remove him from the party — all because he politely mentioned that the drinks were not up to par. Instead of addressing feedback professionally, the owner reacted by removing eight cocktails from the table. To make matters worse, the owner even threatened to call the cops on this guest who had merely given honest feedback.
To add to the frustration, my niece, who is 22 years old, showed her valid ID to the owners, yet Priya and her husband took nearly five minutes to check it and even asked her multiple unnecessary questions before finally letting her order a cocktail. It was simple math — her age was clearly over 21. She’s a college graduate and a full-time employee at a respected company, yet was treated with needless suspicion.
Furthermore, I was in charge of the music, and at 9:03 PM, the owner abruptly turned the music off without warning. When I asked what happened, he rudely responded that the music needed to be shut down. His tone and behavior were completely uncalled for. This level of hostility and unprofessionalism is shocking — and sadly, not new.
I had hosted a party here in February 2025, where they overcharged and behaved unethically. The owner, Priya, did eventually realize the mistake and issued a refund, but her husband’s rude and ill-mannered behavior left a lasting bad impression of the restaurant, and the owners as well. Unfortunately, his conduct at this recent event showed he has learned nothing from that event to this date.
Our money is hard earned, and we spend it to celebrate, not to be insulted. A place that should bring joy ended up causing stress.
The only person worth appreciating is Ajit, the manager, who handled the situations both times with grace and professionalism — though I genuinely wonder how he continues to work for such unpleasant owners.
I apologize for not sharing the truth earlier — only because I hoped they would learn and grow from their mistakes. But from February to October 2025, all I’ve seen is ego and arrogance. I genuinely wish Priya the strength to guide her husband toward professionalism and humility.
Save yourself the disappointment, and find a better place that values its customers and knows how to treat people...

Reviews about the restaurant: Located in the vicinity of the Livermore outlet mall, prime location. Great setup and beautifully looking interiors. Elegant and great outlook for a restaurant.
Reviews about the staff: Nothing special, all of them really looked like they were either stressed out or not happy about their work over there. They did well when they interacted with the customers, otherwise they all were in their own world.
Reviews about the food: I would say I had a below average experience. I was expecting something special from this place, given the location they are and the prices offered. They had plenty on their menu, however, nothing was outstanding.
Sprout salad was good. Dal was good -- but you can get them else where that serves equally good (in fact better at few places)
They made pakodas and placed with the lids closed -- its no surprise, its not going to be crispy nor will taste any good.. same with spring roll.. Why will you prepare these items and lid them up and place a fire to keep it warm under steam :) They had coconut rice and might have forgotten to add salt to it..
All other dishes were surely Indian flavors but nothing outstanding that I would want to remember or want to go back to this place.
It might be a place for someone who has not tried Indian flavors yet. But this is not the only place, there are other places, tha have better flavors at much better pricing..
Overall, one time visit..
If they are looking to survive, they got to pull their sleeve up and create great food and...
