TLDR: Terrible food, Terrible service, Crazy homeless problem.
I understand that the restaurant is family/locally owned and operated. However, the food, service, and atmosphere were truly terrible the day we ate here. We went to the establishment after hearing great reviews and got it at a slow time around 3 on a Tuesday. The service started slow and then proceeded to be non-existent. In an entirely empty restaurant, we waited for drinks, waited for chips and queso, and waited 30+ more minutes for entrees, which were not worth the wait. We spent roughly an hour in the restaurant before our food even got to our table. While we waited, they had 3 tvs playing 3 different news stations, one was CNN and two were in spanish. All of which were competing with the fountain in the middle of the room and the music. Then, when the food did come out, it was bland, greasy, and unappetizing. Not to mention the fly that came out of one of our parties' food when they picked up part of it to take a bite. While we were picking through our food, a homeless individual came in and began a rather loud phone call with the police using the restaurant phone about another homeless individual that had been chasing them down the street with a gun. After that lovely ambiance, we waited an additional 10 minutes at the counter to pay our tab so we could leave.
Needless to say, we won't be back...
Read moreThis is a good home style Mexican food place. The only thing we had that pushed it over to Tex Mex was corn kernals in the rice, so it was perfect for us in that regard. We ordered standard faire, dinner plates of chili relleno, enchiladas, and tostada. It looked great, but as another review mentioned, the food was well, bland. Down to the green chili in the chili relleno. The only spice/ heat we had was from the salsa ( which or toddlers proclaimed too spicy), and the chili con queso which was served on the side of the chili relleno. We didn't get the free beers or margaritas as other reviewers mentioned. And add to the time, yes this is not fast food. We got seated right away, but it time is quite a bit of time to get menus, let alone chips and salsa, and have our order taken. Or lady server was awesome and responsive, the other gentleman working and partly helping or table send to have trouble keeping up with the pace. We also noticed there was no menu online, so we did our best to snap pictures of the...
Read moreThis was my first time here. I wasn't expecting it to be good, BUT to my surprise, the food was great!!! We started off with the Fajitas Nachos. They were very well made. Them meat was season just right, not over bearing with salt. My friends ordered the enchiladas, which looked really good, and per their response, it was delicious 😋! I also got a Ceveche (seafood plate). This was also very, very good! I was very happy with all the food and of all the places I've been to, I have to say, this place is the first fave on my list! Oh, they also give you 2 free margaritas after 5 pm Monday thru Friday! They only have the lime on the rocks, but it was good and not weak at all. The server was very nice, and she was very busy, so it took a little while to order and get our food, but it was worth the wait. I don't mind waiting when the food turns out to be great! Keep up the good work, y'all! I enjoyed it...
