Hartz Chicken Buffet — Restaurant in Livingston

...update aug 3 2022, I was really disappointed in Hartz buffett today, ordered the buffett the coleslaw was spoiled it was think n slimy, put so m.j e on my plate n tasted it it was definitely spoiled, the pickled beets had an off taste to them as well, infact other goods on the Buffett had odd tastes as well, the potatoes had a off smell, the gravy looked like it had set out over night, n the ffg flavor was funky, the chicken was the only thing that had a decent flavor to it, the waiter was sweeping the floor saw some crumbs on a table n with his bare hand swiped them on the floor he never did come back n wipe as ny of the tablea down, after others had eaten there, the pop machine was out of everything but mr pibb , n the ice tea was oddly flavored, think I I will not return for a while, as I came home with an upset stomach.. I was really disappointed as we usually like going there, maybe it was just an off day for them...others complained abt the odd tastes. Too...

They were open!! Update 2 /10/22 hartz has increased their prices n the senior Buffett is now just under 25.00 for 2. Up from 18.00 in December. ..I do believe the food line is cleaner n more quality than they have had in the past n the floors are cleaned more often..however the tables were not cleaned in the hour n half I was there.. during the...

We ordered through DoorDash from this location and I will never again.

The food arrived hot and smelled pretty good. I ordered 1 dozen gizzards and a 2 piece dark with mashed potatoes and gravy. When I picked up the roll from the 2 piece dark, there was a small gnat stuck to the side of it. No bit deal, it’s hot outside and there was a second roll in the gizzards. I pulled the gizzards out of the bag, picked up the roll, just to find roach pieces in the basket; wings, legs, and again that roll too had a gnat on it. This time the gnat looked like it was literally baked into the roll.

Upon seeing this I immediately called the restaurant. The person was rude saying my kitchen is dirty or the DoorDash driver didn’t have a clean car. Mind you, I am at work, in a medical environment, which is cleaned multiple times a day, and opened the food immediately upon arrival. We do not have roaches and gnats in our medical facility.

I have never been into this location to pass judgment on the way it looks inside, but the food arriving as it did, I would not recommend going there as this is...

I personally didn't go to this location. My review is in regards to the lack of response 2 days ago, 7/24/23, when my mother fell over the curb in the handicap space right outside the front door. My parents rave over the buffet there and love having dinner there. They exited the restaurant and they held hands to the car, as they separated at the front of the car, she came around to the door and tripped over the curb and face planted onto the concrete. My father called 911 and EMT's responded, not one person from the restaurant went out to check on their patrons, and not even a civilian walking or driving by attempted to see if her or my dad (also injured while trying to help her) were ok. These are 74 year old individuals who help EVERYONE in need that they come across and not one person came to their aid, except for the responding EMT's. This happened around 5:00-6:00 pm, if you were witness to this incident, I ask that you please contact me. Thank you.
