Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had in my life. Truly a gem that caught me very much off guard. My wife and I found this place when we came to Livingston for some groceries. We had never seen it before since it's sort of hiding inside a building with a casino and the Big Sky Thai restaurant. We walked in and greeted by the owner himself, Christian. He's a very kind and one man from Texas who really knows this Mexican food! You can read a short summary about him on the menus and the restaurant. We were promply seated and offered warm chips, fresh salsa, and they're delicious cream sauce. There were many wonderful options on the menu including breakfast but my wife and I decided to try a sort of Taco sampler meal containing four tacos on corn or flour tortilla, al carbon grilled chicken, steak, carnitas, and chorizo. All of them were amazing but the carnitas tacos were divine!!! All the sides were delicious too, we even ordered a side of the Mexican guacamole which is sort of a fresh chopped avocado with onion and tomato along with lime juice, pickled and fresh jalapeno over the top served with fresh fried flour tortilla chips. I also highly recommend that you pick a bottle of their famous cream sauce, I'm not sure if it's a jalapeno cream or made from some other ingredients but it is just amazing on everything and they sell it by the Mason jar. My wife and I give this place a 5 out of 5 and we will be dining here again and often,...
Read moreThe food was good, the service however, is the reason I won't be returning. We walk in at 10 a.m. & ask the server, "Are you guys selling lunch yet?" To which he responds, "One second." So we wait patiently for about 2 minutes as he's talking to another waiter. Finally he gets back to us with, "For here or to go?" So we ask the same question again, finally we get an answer, he says yes, and then we finally get seated. I'm with my grandparents, who weren't inside to hear me ask about lunch, so they ask, "Are y'all still serving breakfast?" To which he says, "one second", leaves, and then comes back without an answer, again. I have to mention that we were one of two tables in the whole restaurant, so it wasn't overwhelminy busy. We didn't get chips & salsa until after about 15 minutes of already being seated. Two of us were missing spoons from our silverware (the others in our party had them) And on top of not offering refills, they also tried to serve us drinks that weren't ours. Having never been there before, I didn't know to bring the ticket up & pay. After the waiter so kindly didn't inform me of that, I went up there and asked. Because at this point I wouldn't be surprised if we had been forgotten about. I ask him if we pay up front, & even tried to make small talk & apologize because I've never been there. Well that went no where and he wasn't amused. Just overall was not good...
Read moreI'm literally sitting in this restaurant for the first time only having tasted the salsa and queso(which are delicious) and I already wanted to get on here and give them a 5 star review. This is the cleanest restaurant I have ever set foot in! The service is very fast and very friendly. New favorite!
Update: Our enchiladas where SO good as well and we are so impressed by the owner!
Second update: Still going over from Bozeman every chance we get to eat here since we first discovered it a couple of years ago or so. The servers are still fantastic and the food is still incredible, the owner still so, so nice. My husband and I are big tex mex fans and nowhere in Bozeman is like that. They truly get how to make everything taste extremely good at Los Pinos. There queso is awesome, it's not over complicated, it's just done very well in the exact way should be(not sticky or too thick, not trying too hard to be fancy with a bunch of add ins, but homemade still and the best around). The enchiladas are every bit as awesome as what you'd get a a really good tex mex restaurant down south in Texas or Oklahoma if not even better, and that green hot sauce that is their thing is so good I...
