I have been going to Elite Sweets for almost 12 years, but unfortunately my most recent experience will have been my last time doing business with them. My family has always gotten all of our special occasion cakes from Elite Sweets, and we have consistently referred our friends and family to their bakery. I currently live 25 miles from their shop, and have continued to make the trip because their cakes really are great. Unfortunately, the customer service has gone down hill tremendously since my last encounter with them for my wedding in 2017. I drove there on May 10th to buy a birthday cake for my mom, and also decided to inquire about having a cake made for my son's first birthday party on June 15th. The only pleasant person that spoke with me that day was the girl that said she was 'new' and needed to get someone to help me with my son's cake. The blond woman said (rudely) that they could not do custom cakes (per the owner) unless it was from one of their pictures. I showed her a picture of one of their custom cakes from one of their picture books, and then compared it to the picture I brought in (which was a very similar cake with farm animals) and she said no. She was not willing to work with me in any way with the cake design and stated very abruptly, "We get over 200 email requests per day for custom cakes, and it's our busy season, and it's just getting really ridiculous with people showing us their pictures off Pinterest". I asked her if she knew of a bakery that could help me and she reluctantly directed me to try Sorella's. I purchased my mom's cake and headed to Sorella's. The staff at Sorella's were extremely helpful, kind, and were able to accommodate my order with absolutely no issues and worked with me on what my requests were, and actually gave me a small discount because they felt terrible about how my experience at Elite Sweets went. They told me that I was the 4th person that week to go to Sorella's with a similar experience from Elite Sweets. Needless to say, I am grateful that Sorella's was able to help me, but feel pretty disheartened that I will no longer be a patron of...
Read moreDelicious cupcakes and desserts—BUT, don't place an order!!! I ordered 7 dozen petite desserts and five dozen (5 different kinds) of cupcakes. When I went to pick them up, the cupcakes were in two white boxes, not the plastic containers as I was told they would be in. All the cupcakes had white frosting. It looked like I had vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. I asked the staff how my guests were to tell which cupcake was key lime and which was strawberry shortcake. I was told that I didn’t specify that I wanted that (even though the cupcakes that they sell individually are clearly identified with some type of decoration on the frosting). I asked for the owner, but was told he was busy. Another employee eventually came out from the back and then finally agreed to add something to the cupcakes to differentiate the flavors. By this time I was already going to be late to my event. I was frustrated and disappointed. I called Dan Miller, the owner, when I left and he refused to apologize or offer a discount! He said his employee made a mistake, but he was unable to see how the mistake added stress, disappointment, and frustration to the start of my hosting a celebratory event. He abruptly ended the phone call before I was done speaking by saying “have a nice day” and then hanging up on me. I would NEVER place a order with them again. I spent $300 that day and never thought I would have to endure such horrid customer service. It is so sad because with some good counter help and customer service skills who knows what kind of business Dan...

This a sad review for me, as I have supported this bakery for as long as I can remember. It has been my go to bakery for cakes for birthdays and special occasions, until now.
The bakery makes delicious cakes. However, the customer service leaves much to be desired. In a business that should pride themselves on being a part of people's special days, you would think customer service would be up there, right under "make delicious cakes".
However, when you can't order a cake the way you want it and can only order off the menu, you lose my business. My daughter picked a dynasty cake,f their menu, for her birthday but we have raspberry allergies. We asked if we could simply just not have the raspberry filling, the answer was no. If you make the cake there, on site, why would you not accommodate?
I can understand changing most anything else, being an added cost or because they may currently have a limited menu, not being able to accommodate additions... But this is simply NOT putting something that would otherwise be on the cake. Just plain silly, and lost a $6something...
