I was urged to try this place by a friend who knows me and my girls (11 & 3) are super picky eaters. We weren’t disappointed.
We ordered an assortment to taste test: 2 different Burgers Grilled Cheese Chicken Fingers Fries Onion Rings
Atmosphere Pros: first of all the employees were all amazingly friendly the moment we walked in. Not your typical restaurant employee - almost seemed like they were working a food truck! I like that you can see the kitchen where your food is being made. The dining area was open and clean (huge plus for us germaphobes). My youngest had to use the restroom and it was tidy enough - spacious for someone with toddlers!
Atmosphere Cons: I didn’t experience any.
Food Pros: everything we ordered came the way we ordered it. My god thank you for not just putting 2 jalapeños rings on when I ask for jalapeños! Chicken fingers were darn good, definitely my eldest’s favorite. I’m usually not a fan of chicken fingers but I could eat an order of these (maybe half - it’s a lot) with that SAUCE! Wow that concoction is tasty! Onion rings were top notch - her words, “the best onion rings I’ve ever had.” I wouldn’t argue that. Grilled cheese wasn’t your typical white bread Coney Island grilled cheese (brioche? - I dunno but quality bread!). The fries were crispy…which is apparently hard for a lot of restaurants to grasp.
THANK YOU FOR NOT USING STYROFOAM! Not only is it horrible for warm food - but also the environment. The food was still piping hot and NOT SOGGY when we got it home!
Food Cons: the only thing I would say is that it is a pretty salty meal. Other people mentioned the burgers being salty but if it’s coming with ketchup, mustard and other condiments/toppings they would be. I didn’t notice the burger being overly salty - but jalapeños kill everything lol. But the fries were a little too salty for me (not for the kids). HOWEVER, I could have ordered them without it which I will next time and salt to my personal preference. I don’t expect them to please everyone! I could taste the salt in the onion ring batter and on the chicken - but it wasn’t overpoweringly salty.
Overall - we definitely will be back. It’s a little pricey for a single mom of 2 compared to other options, so it probably won’t be super often - but, that’s not saying it’s not worth the price!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 From 3 picky girls...
Read moreWow! This is the gem of Farmington HiIls. I have so many things I like about this restaurant. I'll start with the smash burgers. They are always well cooked, juicy and sizeable for a reasonable, affordable price of $7.75. Next are the garlic fries. Once you smell them, you will know you are getting garlic fries. They are tasty and they provide a good serving size. Another draw is the milkshakes. I have tried their vanilla and strawberry shakes. The vanilla milkshake was really good, but the strawberry milkshake is legendary, the best strawberry milkshake that I've ever had. I even consider it better than the strawberry milkshake at Big Boy. The service is outstanding. It is refreshing to see workers and food service that enjoy their job and enjoy serving the customer, and it is evident every visit. I have never once felt like I was a nuisance to any of the the employees just because I was there to order food. It's very nice that you only have To stand up at the counter for ordering your food. After ordering at the counter, you can sit down and they will bring the food out to you. A nice little bonus is they have a rewards program where you can get one point for every $10 spent in a visit. After eight points, you earn a free Burger. It's great to know that I can be rewarded for my loyalty.
I would put up the quality of food and service and overall value at Rolling Stoves among the top tier of burger restaurants in the area.
The only small issues I have is there aren't more locations and I wish they would take Tradefirst as a form of payment. Otherwise, I would highly recommend you try Rolling Stoves the next time you have a craving for burgers and fries and/or a shake. You will not regret trying it and will be happy...
Read moreSo I've been reading the reviews both good and bad, but mostly good for rolling stoves for a while now and wanting to try, So today I did. I ordered dinner for the family. This is a locally owned business, which I always like to support, and it's a few miles from home. I ordered 2 double smashed burgers one with ketchup mustard Mayo the other with no mustard and no Mayo and no pickles. What I got was both burgers the same. Both had pickles no catch up no mustard no mayo. I also had the garlic fries the Cajun fries and onion rings. The Onion rings were OK nothing special maybe a little soggy. The garlic fries and the Cajun fries were delicious but both were a bit soggy not a bit of crunch, which I like, which is the opposite of the crunchiness of the Burger which I also liked. Overall I sadly give a rating of 2. Burgers were different in a good way, but when you can't get the order right you're probably not getting my business again. Fries were also seasoned well, but soggy. Onion rings were below average. And this is also sadly what many of the reviews stated. I ordered online, so couldn't have been a miscommunication on the toppings. Maybe at some point the future I'll try again, but definitely sitting down inside to eat to make sure the order is correct and address immediately if not. Once I got home and found the food as it was, I removed the unwanted toppings, added the missing toppings, and put the fries in the oven to crisp up a bit. P.S. my punctuation, And spelling are terrible because I use voice...
