I had a horrible experience as a first time customer with my significant other on Sunday August 18, 2024. We'd heard some nice things about the food and decided to patronize and try the restaurant out. Upon entrance to the Mr. Miguel's, there was another caucasian family of eight that entered before we did. There was a young lady with blonde and black hair standing behind the host stand, and we could see that she was busy taking an order over the phone. Another short young lady with short burgundy/red hair came to the host stand and afterwards grabbed menu and silverware and seated the family. My significant other and I were still standing for maybe another 6 minutes in front of the host stand leaving a walking path in front of us.The red hair waitress, walked by pass, hadn't greeted us and walked back pass us to the other side of the restaurant, came back..still hadn't greeted us and went behind the host and and begin arranging things on the stand. After noticing she wasn't going to greet us, my signifcant other greeted her. During this time two caucasian women came in and stood behind me in line, waiting to be seated. During the greeting, my signifcant other told the hostess it was two of us for dining in. Her replied was, "Oh, you would like to be seated? It will be just a moment." She then walked from behind the host stand and grabbed two menus and silverware, walked passed us greeted the woman behind us and asked how many. The woman told her two and the host proceeded by seating them in a booth area on the front side of the restaurant, though these two woment came in after us and had the same number in their parrty. After she came back passed us, she went to the other side of the restaurant, came back grabbed two menus and took us to the other side, walking passed open seating on both sides of the restuarant, and place us in the back directly at the back glass door. I asked the hostess was there any booths available. She stated that there were, but the server has 8 people and it would be 10 minutes before she seat us.I wasn't understand first, why she'd seated the women behind us after we'd already been standing there waiting for 10 minutes total and secondly, why we had to wait to be seated for another 10 minutes in empty seating booth. So I stated, Yes, we can wait, we would just like to have a booth on the front side, since there are 4 vacant booths. She said Okay, and lead us back to the other front part of the restaurant, walked behind the host stand and left us standing there again. We thought would be seated at 1 of the 4 vacant booths, but instead she left us standing in for maybe another 7 minutes. I then asked the hostess, "Excuse me, what are we waiting on again?" The hostess stated, that the server has 8 people orders to take and after taking the orders, we could be seated. During this time there were no other customers waiting in the restaurant to be seated. I asked the hostess if we could be seated while we wait on the server, that way maybe we can order drinks while waiting. After a few more minutes, we were seated at one of the vacant booths that was opened when we entered the restaurant, but to be seated AFTER someone behind us and then seated in the back of the restaurant near the back door is very disrespectful and distasteful. We decide to not order and left the restaurant. We were excited to try out the restaurant as a first time experience and due to the horrible customer service experience, we will not partronize the establishment again, but will very much so, share this experience with many, hoping they do not experience the Disrepect to the fullest extent as we did. I'd never experienced this type of low-key racism in my entire life and I am very disappointed and hurt by this overall. The BEST part about this experience is, my significant other and I decided to leave Mr. Miguel's restaurant immediately and went to Armandos on W. Vernon in Southwest Detroit, where we enjoyed REAL cooked Mexican food with Great...
Read moreWe have been here a few times and we have had great servers and food Our new favorite spot for Mexican food. UPDATED: Food was still good but disappointed that now there seems to be a extra charge on several items for example an entrée that always came with cheese on it is now two dollars more if you want cheese on it? Also, they now charge more if you use your debit card to pay, while I understand, the cost of everything has gone up it would look much Better if they just raise the price on their items instead of nickel and diming their customers and paying Extra to use your debit card that is a big turn off. I guess I will go back down the road immediately they need to realize that some things are just the cost of doing business. UPDATED 12/8/24 Went back tonight even after my last update Service wasn’t good at all maybe he was new or new to serving didn’t know the menu very well Then food came out didn’t see him for a good 15 minutes which wouldn’t be a big deal except we had no silverware had fried tacos that didn’t seemed to be cooked enough to start with but were very soggy Not sure what they changed but we likely won’t be back That’s sad because This place was one of our...
Read moreI came in on Saturday and had some great food, however I wish I could say the same thing about the bartender. She was not friendly, very unpleasant and seemed to be annoyed when asking her for something. I tried to let it go cause we all have bad days but as I sat there the experience just kept getting worse. This clearly wasn’t just a bad day. Talking about your fellow co-worker to the busser & host and the one co-worker who was actually working, you could see she was very busy, working hard as she had almost every table full is just not it for me. Her attitude about another employee who was actually working hard and her talking not nicely about that said employee for the bar that you are tending to hear is so distasteful. Very shocking but she also looks very young so maybe it’s an age thing but that bar tender has a lot to learn! Definitely focus on the people in front of you instead of being more concerned about talking another co-worker who working!! 🤯 Not to mention she clearly had work to be doing as I had to ask for several things twice. Be...
