I’m actually changing my review today. In the past I’ve had pleasant experiences. Today was the worst service I’ve had in a very long time! My parents come here sometimes twice a week with my sisters & their kids. Today we were all exited to eat there to celebrate my nieces violin recital. The waitress was on her phone instead of attending to the tables. She didn’t come see see us until she delivered food, which my nieces and nephew were out of their drinks. We were also asking for some condiments that we asked for when we ordered. She delivered the condiments, no drinks for the kids. I mention the drinks for the 3rd time and she said she was going to be right back with it. Over 5 minute later still no drinks. My nieces and nephews who are eating their hot food and could get a dry mouth or choke and wouldn’t have anything to drink. I then go up to the counter asking for seconds for their drinks to be told they will have to charge for the second set - which has never happened in my parents SEVERAL times of going. The owner (who my parents know) was supposedly called and said the drinks need to be charged. This will be the last time I go with my parents/family. If you do plan to go, I would recommend going in the morning/early afternoon and ask for Vicky because she’s the only waitress who is worth something at this restaurant. The people dining shouldn’t have to ask for drinks several times & then go to the counter because drinks are still not being delivered, straws to go with the kids drinks that have lids and require straws to drink, plates for the flaming cheese (an appetizer), silverware for everyone at the table. Cannot believe the experience and would recommend you go to Bates, Steve’s, or even the Senate...
Read moreUpdate: I still stick to what I said but I recently received the most wonderful cheesecake with strawberries from here. It was a generous portion and they definitely didn't skimp on the strawberries. A recent top favorite for me in sweets. I amped up the stars a bit for this alone.
My family has brought me several carry out dinners from here and they have all been horrible. For some reason this restaurant refuses to season anything. I remember once I had this giant cabbage roll that looked so promising but when I bit into it, I tasted absolutely nothing as if I were eating air itself. I have also received this very bland spinach pie with which I requested rice with sauce. All I got was this huge field of nasty plain rice and soggy spinach pie triangles with zero flavor. Today I was again a victim of the spinach pie which literally tastes like I opened a can of processed spinach and starting eating it with a fork with nothing added to it. I even love spinach and I hated this spinach pie. I remember my Mom telling me she hated eating there because they don't season anything. Everything gets thrown out which I don't like to do but I wouldn't even feed this to a starving person because I would have more thought to give that person something flavorful and wonderful. When I know I have received a carry out from here I just want to run away and hide under furniture. I am giving two stars for the fact they haven't given me food...
Read moreIt is truly a disappointment in what has happened at Sam's Place. When an order is placed it is as if the employee who answers the phone does not listen to a word you have to say. They now barely catch what you would like to order. My office finds themselves in search of a new restaurant. Sam decided to change his chicken dinner and skimp on his chicken breast cutting it in half along with many other dinner cutbacks. He now took away the rice pilaf and added the most bland white rice, you would think we were in a third world country. The way the owner Sam answers the phone himself at times makes you feel as if you are a hassle to his day. It is a shame because a year ago we all loved Sams. Now we will take the further drive to go to Steves on Middlebelt. Sam has forgotten who supported him to further him to where he is now and he needs to stand back and rethink what he is doing to his own restaurant. The every changing staff, the way the workers rattle off the soups and you can't even comprehend what they are saying. Just a disappointment. Watch! Your sales will drop Sam, out of your greediness and unattentiveness to your customers. Repeatedly having to return to get a take out order straight. A waste of time. Never do you make up for it. WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST BUSINESS... Vicky is the best thing about Sams. Very sweet woman. Please enlighten me if you know of any good restaurants in the area, As far as the STARS GO THEY ARE NO...
