We have walked past this establishment many times in the past and on my wife's birthday we decided to try something new. Let me start by saying that we live on the Island and my wife is from the island. We have eaten carne frita many times. It is one of my favorite dishes. On this occasion my wife ordered the carne frita, and on the first bite she looked at me and said "there's somety very wrong with this!". I had a small bite of the piece of pork she had on her fork, and it tasted rancid. That is honestly the only way to describe it. We flagged down the waitress, let her know the problem and sent it back. She never returned. Nobody came to the table. It was as though we no longer existed. We ate what was on my plate, which was the waterfront chicken. After waiting for the waitress I just headed to the bar to request the bill. They had left the rancid pork on the bill. I enquired why we were being charged for it and was informed that the cook said it was fine and we should have eaten it. Aside from having no desire to eat bad meat, neither the waitress nor manager came to the table to offer us something else or much less the same meal that they felt was fine. I then had to argue with the manager about the dangers of serving meat that has turned and raise my voice to resolve the bill issue. The manager does not care about customer service, and that shows in his staff as well. There are so many better places to eat in Piñones. The only good thing about The Waterfront is the view, but you can get your meal to go from somewhere else, and have the same view without the...
Read moreFood was absolutely delicious, prices were perfect. The view and walk along the pier is beautiful. The area overall still seems to be recovering and the venue has a beautiful rustic local dining vibe. I enjoy traveling out from main tourism locations for more authentic food and I feel traveling to Pinones is a great balance to have a safe, authentic experience as tourist. Up and down the coast you can choose from a plethora of eateries. Despite the beautiful connection to nature while dinning and quality fish, lobster and authentic plates If you're looking for upscale beach dining this may not be the location for you. The service was not the best, long wait time, messed up two of our orders, however we just went with it. When we went to pay they had upcharged us $50 more and didn't specify the charges. Luckily we read the bill/MENU, however if you do not read in spanish this would have been over looked. Please travel by cab or during the day to Pinones if your alone. Be mindful that PR is safe, however economic resources are not as sufficient...
Read moreAfter returning from a wonderful cruise, we found ourselves with 8 hours to kill before our flight home, so on the recommendation of our Uber driver, we went to an area near the airport called the Piñones to chill for a couple of hours and walk along the beach. While on our walk, we stopped in at this great little local beachside bar and restaurant. The Waterfront. Cold beer, friendly staff, and a full menu of local favorites. We opted for the Sunset Assortment of apps for a snack. It included fried cheese, casava balls, ham croquettes, chapin turnovers and chorizo, and corn sorullos. The food was delicious and fresh. So good, in fact, we ordered an additional order of the ham croquettes and the chapin turnovers. All served with fantastic house suuces and a spicy house hot sauce. I also highly recommend the mojitos. Strong, but well made and full of flavor. Not your typical "tourist joint" at all. If you found yourself in San Juan, great area to enjoy the day. If you found this review helpful, please "Like" so others will see it too....
