Loco Poke is an awesome Poke place. I have a great rapport with the owner and really enjoy their food. They have a great rewards program and after the 10th bowl you get a free one. Now for constructive criticism. I was not aware I was being charged for extra scoops if I chose an extra scoop here or there. It doesn't matter to them even if you skip the expensive protein (vegan in family and they don't want meat or tofu). Smack Pie pizza started charging extra when you get extra vegges but skip the meat. Both will let you have one each of each scoop of each vegetable, but if you double up on a few even if you don't select each item, you are charged extra for that item. I thought if I shared this info, there could be a fix for the issue, like a vegan bowl or something. Nope, only quoted policy and sorry. Food is awesome though. I give 4 stars because of this and 5 stars if they develop something that address vegan issues and the extra scoop issue. :-)
Lauren, thank you for your quick response. You guys are really great. Pretty muck all I think I expect is to be told when your adding onto the total and that it is extra. I'm suggesting ideas about this since I am not the only review that said something about this and I have taken constructive complaints with my business and developed solutions. I'm not looking for the lowest price bowl and would actually rather pay more and not be up charged. I'm sure there are varying opinions on this, but I think you have a premium product that could be at a higher price point for the quality you...

I think I asked for too many toppings because the employee struggled slightly to close the lid. That said, the portions are clearly great if you like to get a good amount of toppings. One thing that we missed while eating Hawaiian poke was adding the toppings that poke shops in CA offer. Canât beat the freshness and taste of real Hawaiian Poke, but all the toppings here make the value great. Large is 5 scoops of fish and was plenty between my girlfriend and me. We had Ahi and Salmon with the chili oil and loco sauce. Couldnât really get a strong idea of the sauce flavors, but I like that you choose sauces for the bowl, fish, and final topping sauces.
My girlfriend said she tasted an off tasting piece at one point. Maybe it is something about being the first place we tried right after our trip to Hawaii, but I have to agree that the freshness of the fish tasted a bit lacking. Not spoiled though, as far as I tasted.
I do not recommend the side of wonton chips personally. They are MASSIVE but I just donât find them worth it ($4! which I didnât see advertised but mightâve missed it). I also prefer normal, smaller, less greasy...
