Taco Real & Pupuseria — Restaurant in Lombard

We went here because I saw a tik tok video on pupusas. We happened to be in the area and this place had great reviews. I've never had pupusas so I have nothing to compare to, but they were tasty.

The beans were acidic, strange but not bad. Rice was okay. The cabbage mix was flavorless so I preferred the pupusa just as-is.

We ordered ahead a pickup order and the lady at the counter was not courteous at all, the only words she said to us was her asking if we had cash. No hello, have a nice day, sign here, or even tell us our total.

The entire place was empty and it the middle of the day. We did not get our sodas, per their lunch menu, nor did we get forks or napkins.

Food was okay, but probably won't be coming...

The first time ever going pupusas were absolutely delicious but unfortunately our experience was absolutely horrible. The young girl who runs the register has the most nastiest demeanor very unprofessional no customer experience she definitely should not be working the front.. was really really craving these pupusas like I said because they were delicious so we decided to go back and it was about four months that we haven't really wanted to go back thinking possibly maybe something changed no not at all young girl tried to get really rude that was definitely put right into her place and she walked away from the register if I'm paying for a I expect good service especially when...

This place is definitely worth trying. The people who work here are super friendly and I was amazed that they greeted some guest by names. Who ever mixes the masa for the pupusas, I have to say it's on point. I enjoyed the pupusas very much. I wish they had the tomatoe sauce that I'm used to putting on other restaurants and it would be perfect. The curtido I'm giving it a 7. It's good but can be better. The platanos on point, the yuca I think I enjoyed this very much. Will I be back? Definitely and I'm recommendeding to my siblings for a quick pupusa fix. My dish I'm rating...
