The Blackthorn Pub — Restaurant in Lomita

Came in there yesterday for a New Year's Eve drink and to try some of the appetizers and I couldn't get service. An obese, bearded bartender behind the bar wouldn't give me a menu and was extremely rude I asked what they offer for drinks and food items he pointed to the bottles set behind the bar and walked away. Another customer tried to talk to him to get me service but the bartender wasn't interested in it. I left and I'll never come back here and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I'm a local here! Never had a problem at any of the bars in the city or the local restaurants. Don't come to this place if you want friendly service or someone to tell you about what they offer. It's probably owned by people who only want to deal with people they know or are related to. I'd give this place a zero but it...

I had a not so great review up. I retract it. The owner has done a nice job. It took some time. The patio is very nice, especially on a nice day. Crowd depends… but not rude. I would have brought my mom here. All in all… well done. Im a bit picky too… just go… Food isn't as good as it was. But it’s still quite good. It’s just that for a bit it was fantastic. They had a chef that was overly talented for a pub. 2 real dart boards! That's cool right?!

No pool .. so.. I’m not in there much.

Also… there is a spot to have a smoke and a drink at the same time....

We came in from Houston to get on a cruise and the hotel manager recommended this spot for good food & drinks , everything was good and had affordable prices. also, The bartender was friendly and gave us great service. The Blackthorn is great if you want a laid back and fun experience with good tasty bar food, drinks and great music playing, it's a little on the small side space-wise but cozy and a great place to grab a cold one with...
