We were so happy with this place as our favorite local restaurant, but our experience two days ago was terrible. It would have been one star on that experience alone. I'm not sure if we'll go back.
Previously, we had only eaten there for dinner and had great experiences. Fair price, very quick, friendly service. But we tried lunch for the first time, and it became very disappointing that they prioritize to-go orders above those dining in. To the point that in a relatively empty restaurant, my husband had to leave after 45 mins of not getting any food to get back to work in time. In those 45 mins, at least 6 (that I saw) to-go orders were made and picked up. We had to struggle to get any attention for service, including having to ask twice to order, for drinks, for our dip we ordered when we first sat, for more chips since our table had gone through the one basket in 45 mins of waiting, etc. The cheese dip seems trival but it was frustrating that they didn't apologize when I asked where it was but instead said, "It's about to come out. It's warming up, we had to use the rest from the other batch for the to-go orders." Well, that would have been nice to know when we asked for it over 30 mins before. And why do the dine-in folks get such low priority?
When our food finally came, it was mediocre compared to their usual high quality. And still missing a set of silverware and the tortillas for my fajitas. After asking a second time for the said tortillas (and being promised, she'dcome right back with them), I gave up and ate it without them.
After an unusually long wait for a dine in experience with only two other tables with guests, I would have expected the food to at least be freshly made. But everything was lukewarm or not warm at all. We clearly were being served what was left after their to-go orders rush.
Another table came in after us and got their food well before us, so that was frustrating to watch, too.
So, hopefully your experience will be better. But avoid dining in at lunch. You might as well...
Read moreStopped in for lunch two days ago. Two in my party and it was wonderful! Generous portions, very well priced, and wonderful fresh authentic food! Was not crowded or busy and THE BEST EVER customer service! Two waitresses stopped by couple of times just to respectfully ask if we were doing well. Just enough service but not over the top! They wanted to make sure we didn't need any fresh napkins, sodas, more food, or chips and salsa. No customers wait for service or attention here! Food is excellent! Hot, fast, and generous sized portions! Wonderfully clean as well! Desserts are great! What a great local gem!...
Read moreAbsolute fire. A (at least to me) unique take on Chile relleno (a must have). There are some take out associated charges not on any menu I've seen online, but it is what it is. Just eat there, get everything straight out the kitchen, and apply those charges to a tip for their attentive wait staff. If you want Mexican, there's really no other choice. Before you go, check out the grocery and the little fridge boxes for a snack later. Edit: the Chile Relleno. I'm used to these being fried in an egg batter. This was definitely more egg, less batter. I can't even look at anyone else's after have...
