Carmen's Coffee Company — Restaurant in Long Beach

Carmen’s Coffee truck has been my favorite for years! The entire team is welcoming- and they all make my drinks and food items perfectly!! The Breakfast Bocadillo is my favorite breakfast. I prefer it over going out to a restaurant for breakfast. My absolute favorite is their Chai latte. They have their own proprietary spice blend (which I wish they sold too, because I would buy it for myself and as gifts) that is absolutely delicious! It has a kick from ginger, cinnamon, and more, that is unparalleled. I have tried to recreate it, but can’t come close. I also buy the jalepeno quiche in small batches to keep at home and work when I can’t make it to the coffee truck. The pastries are all delicious, even the vegan options. The vegan offerings are not dry and boring, they are even kid approved. As a bonus, the truck also travels to events in the area like the Patchwork festival and car shows (even PTA events), and I always line up when I see them. I know I sound as though I’m obsessed…...

Everything was great except for the barely lukewarm coffee. I do not like super hot coffee at all but this is barely child's temp. I crutched all the way down here for a great cup of coffee after my dentist appointment and then that. They have to throw the entire cup out to make a new hot cup, which I'm not that much of a waster. Next time I'll say super hot. 😀 Good pastry. The staff is very friendly and they have substitutions for all types of preferences/food allergies. However, I have had multiple bad experiences here lately.
