This place quickly became our favorite go to!! We've yet to dine in but look forward to our take out a couple of times a month. Still my very favorite Ettoufee. The hours have been set and every time we've been the hours have been accurate since my original post. I would give more stars if I could! The owner and his wife are awesome! So friendly and accommodating.
The only negative I have is that the hours posted online aren't the actual hours. We drove over there Friday at 7 and it was closed even though on the internet and the bussiness Facebook it stated they were open till 8. I was sad as I looked forward to this visit all week. We reached out on Facebook to find they open at 11 and close isn't really a set time, so give them a call if your looking for dinner on Friday or Saturday. Today (a Saturday) my husband was able to stop in and get us an order to go. I was dying to try the crawfish Étouffée as I haven't found any worth mentioning since moving to the Gulfport area. We were able to buy by the quart. (How ever if you wish to do that we were told to give 24 hour notice.) It was worth the wait!!! Fantastic!!! Just what I was craving if not better. They don't short you on the crawfish either!! My husband was pleased with the service as well, everyone was friendly. They offer by the quart or gallon prices, which makes it a little more affordable for our family of 6, I appreciate...
Read moreWe went with a party of 4 to have dinner at 5pm on Friday July 5th. We thought it would be busy but there was only one other table of diners. We each ordered an entree and one of us ordered a side of red beans and rice with sausage, the woman explained that the side of red beans did not have sausage, only the entree came with sausage. I told her very clearly that I’d just like the small side with only red beans and rice and no sausage. Five to ten minutes later our entrees were delivered. The woman who took our orders brought 5 entrees and no small side of red beans and rice, only a large entree of red beans rice and sausage. When I explained to her I ordered the side she told me I did not, I ordered the large entree with sausage, when our party of four looked at each other we were shocked at her curt and rude response, we all knew what I ordered. How many women order two large entrees? We were also surprised that the prices in the restaurant were higher than the prices on their online menu. One of our entrees, “The taste of Darwell’s”, came in plastic bowls, plastic flatware, and beverages in styrofoam cups. This is not the same restaurant we used to eat at 4-5 years ago. As a former hotel, bar and restaurant management professional I felt like the people running this establishment have zero experience in this business. I would like to commend our young waitress, she was kind...
Read more2 friends and I ATTEMPTED to eat here because we went to an outdoor event nearby and we had a dog with us (we were looking for somewhere with outdoor seating). We went inside to inform the waitress that we were there to eat outside because of the dog. She did not pick her eyes up off of the floor and very rudely stated that we would need to come order at the front. Because none of us had ever been there before I asked where the “front” was and she just pointed and walked away. She really did not seem like she wanted to be there or for us to be there either. At this point we decided we would just leave. Don’t get me wrong the music, the lights, and the decor of this place were awesome. Kinda wish I took more pictures of the inside of the building. However, the staff alone was something else. Really can’t tell you how the food was as none of my friends felt comfortable staying after that interaction.
