I usually only write good reviews and when things go wrong someplace I mostly ignore going there. Occasionally I'll give a bad review. This is the 2nd time this has happened at this Del Taco tho so I'm not at all happy. I went there shortly before closing about a week ago. I like Del Taco. I wish they'd change the open 24 hours they have online because they aren't. So many businesses have left that online and I know it gets frustrating for those of us that go someplace and they are closed. That's not the problem I have tho. My visit about a week ago as I said was close to closing time. I was ordering for 4 of us, plus for some guy standing close to the drive-thru lane that asked if I could buy him a burger+fries+drink. They didn't have that so I got him something else. I ordered 8 carnitas tacos. I got 4 cuz they were out. I ordered 5 carnitas burritos. They were out. I ordered 4 bean and cheese burritos. 3 large fries. 4 largedrunks. They were our of 1, so i left it at 3. A 2 taco combo for the guy outside, and mine... caramel cheesecake bites. Yum. The woman on the speaker even asked what size. I told her the largest. I forgot to mention the 4 tostadas. Del Taco is on South/Downey and I took the food to Artesia/Paramount, so more than a few blocks away. Upon arriving and unpacking the food to hand out, we realized that I was only given 1 carnitasTaco, 2 random burritos, and the worst...NO CHEESECAKE BITES. Everything else was as ordered. I and 1 friend didn't get to eat. I still had the receipt and checked to see if I paid for the missing items. Yes. I did. It was past closing so I meant to go back the next day. I couldn't. By the following day I had forgotten and after that, I not only threw all the receipts that were in my bag away, but I think too many days had passed. About 3 months prior, again, I didn't get the cheesecake bites. I can't just sit there and check to make sure I've got everything ordered. It's beyond frustrating to get all the way home and discover that you paid for food and didn't get it. I don't live next door to Del Taco and I always go when I'm tired and it's late. The 2 times I'm mentioning were close to closing time so I couldn't go back then anyways. I doubt mentioning it 3 or 4 days later would do any good anyways. I'm just stuck with paying for food I didn't get. How hard can it be to get what you ordered/paid for? Why don't the employees check to make sure it's all there? For this reason, and no other, I feel like I don't want to go there anymore. I feel like every time I go, I'll just be...
Read moreSo Iâm not big on putting down an establishment, however, wrong is wrong. As someone who has worked in the fast food industry on more than one occasion, I know that there are times when a new employer is training and getting their feet wet. However, tonightâs experience could not be summed up to that. Now please keep in mind that it of a sale night where you get three of the chicken tacos for a certain set price. Okay so BOOM, I pull into the driveway at 8:35 and when I tell yâall it took a WHOLE 30 minutes to get to the window to pay!!! No lie. The young man at the window is having an excellent conversation with the car in front of me, now at this point Iâm not even upset or fazed cause itâs a âsale nightâ, so I paid it no mind, but did make a mental note to inquire. So when I finally get to the window thereâs two bags, I should have received 9 of the chicken tacos, and 3 bean and cheese burritos for a gentleman and his dog. I paid my finds and did my inquiry of why the line was impossibly long. I was advised by the young man that thereâs new employees working. And Iâm like really???? I say really because whenever I was placed onto the floor I better know what Iâm doing if not ask right? Well apparently not at this location. He gives me my bags and I pull off, feeling devastated for the consumers still in the line. I find the gentleman and his dog, give them their food and proceeded to drive towards my house. However something told me to ensure that I had my sauces, why when I looked into the bag I was missing 3 of the 9 tacos. So I flipped a you know what, and went back. I knock on the door and theyâre looking like whatâs going on. The manager on duty comes and I fully detailed what occurred, even my time in said drive through. She then looks at my receipt up and down as if Iâm creating a fabrication. I advise her to look into the bag, still hot tacos never touched. And I again question the staff. Because I get that their new but we canât count? When there are physically active people in the world who desire to work, for an opportunity. Yet weâre hiring who âfitsâ the service industry. Itâs sad for me because I know first hand people who are actively trying, and these âchildrenâ donât care to work but are receiving a position for to their ties or relations, not due to work ethic or experience. Do you know how many people hear that they arenât qualified???? Well I can tell you that the crew that worked there tonight March 21st, 2024 are not...
Read moreI was a little confused while reading all of these reviews, "bad customer service" "not enough sauce" "always screw up" "language barriers". Any fast food restaurant can easily mess up on an order, we are a diverse country and we shouldn't judge or make less of a place because there are hardworking people who are still practicing their English. As for the sauce, I'm sure they don't give a lot because of the same reason that others don't, most of us just end up throwing them away. So if you need more than 2 packets, just ask politely and problem solved.
I've been coming to this Del taco for a couple of years now and up to this day I am satisfied with everything and everyone even with crew member Mariela, she's always been very helpful. If I ask for a burrito a certain way, they don't make an excuse, they get it done for me. There are some menu items that don't exist at any other Del taco but you can still get here! (One of the many reasons why I prefer this location over the others). There are a couple of times when I have to wait a while for my food but what do you expect when there's a line of customers in the dine and a line of cars in the drive thru? A lot of customers is a great sign, way better than a restaurant where no one goes. Every time I walk in the dine the employees are never just standing around even if there's no customers they are always working which I appreciate! Unlike many other restaurants that I've been to, when the cashiers are on their phones, cooks are just chitchatting.
Well anyways, my point is that this is my favorite Del taco. If you've never been here don't be fooled by the bad reviews, give then a try and see...
