Don's Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Long Beach

I'm on my life change journey for 2025... today was my first free day... I ran down Don's... and got those chicken wings, fish & shrimp... best day ever... you just need too check them out... it's all good... I've been passing this for year's... meaning too try it... well today I had time on my hand and wanted whole chicken wings... which a lot of places ... only do those party wings ... I don't like the partywings... the best part of the wing, to me is the little tip... man I love it... I wish some place would sale the fried chicken feet, necks & gizzards... maybe one day 😅🤣😂... but back too this place... if you blink you're miss this spot... it's a hidden gem... the season is on point... these are some of the pretty golden brown, juicy wings ... I've had from an fish & chicken spot... if you're in the mood for some close too home cooked chicken... this is you're place... they also have party wings... if that's you're thing ... check this place out... you will not be disappointed ... it is worth the trip... everything is cooked too order and it's take out only... but so worth all that ... Okay.. I never got a chance to come back and update my previous review which was under Deanna B..I did go to visit them that same day. They open at 1030. I got there by 1040 and when I walked in the cases were empty there was not a single fish on display which immediately put me on alert. I'm not sure what was going on, but it looked to me that maybe the refrigeration on the case maybe had stopped working. I yelled a couple times to see if a clerk was around, he finally comes out the back and I asked him where was the fish. He then tried to assure me that he had fish, just tell him what I wanted and he'll make it now. I just didn't feel cool about ordering something I cant even see first. At that moment, another customer came in and saw the empty case and said he wasnt going to eat it either once he saw the case. Now in now way, I'm saying anything was wrong with your fish, but maybe in the future you can have your displays set up before a customer arrives, so that we won't be scared off from trying it. 3.5stars-first of all the customer behind me came in with a really large order and it was nearly closing time so they did that order first and just left me waiting. Not that it mattered but my order was a lot smaller and simpler. And the fish was the fish fillets are very small shrimps are small they weren't like they were the last time I was there and. Maybe I'm a little too sensitive for my own good but I don't like the feeling I get when I get pushed to be the last customer when I was there first regardless of whatever size the orders were I won't be returning.
