Food & drinks were decent, ambience: dark restaurant with dim lights. The one star review is due to the owner and the the bartender, Jaden R. (tall, goofy-looking white boy), who felt so entitled to my money that after I left, decided to commit credit card fraud and add a $20 tip for himself. A few days after I’d been there, I was looking at my credit card statement & noticed this discrepancy. I called the restaurant, explained that I wanted to speak to the owner/manager about apparent fraud on my credit card. The hostess, Fiona put me on hold only to come back to say that the owner, George, had “stepped out.” She took my contact info & I gave her the info from the receipt. She said she’d “look into it” & look through their receipts and George would call me back ASAP. Well, never heard back from George or Fiona so I guess the owner doesn’t care about his employees stealing from customers. The food and drinks are pricey for the quality and service. Don’t go here. But if you do, pay cash or take a pic of your receipt after you’ve signed but before you leave. I already contacted my credit card to report this fraud. Hope this...
Read moreUpscale small and ambient place to enjoy a very good meal and cozy accommodations with plush booths and covid separators. Great attention to detail in decorum and quality staff. That's saying much for restaurants and their labor challenges and inflated prices these days.
My friend and I split a Ceasars salad with anchovies (anchovies, not my idea), and the main course we split also, which was Chilean sea bass. It was very good but a tad salty which explains the 4/5 star rating along with the location itself. You can find parking in a residential area across the street but with that location (options are few) just go around the block since it is a one way street where you can park, parallel to 2nd Street.
Overall, a lovely dining experience. Hassle with the parking and crossing the boulevard but it's like NYC that way only so much better. As for the sodium, maybe it's just me with the entrée. Oh, and the anchovies, but that was not their...
Read moreNice ambiance, excellent service, but the food did not taste good. We got steak tartare as an appetizer, whic was the best we had there but was underseasoned. For entrees I got a seafood risotto and my husband got a special carbonara pasta with prawns. All of the seafood (lobster, shrimp and scallops) was overcooked and rubbery. The risotto was underseasoned, overcooked, and was missing any of the creaminess risotto should have. Just a boring saffron rice instead. Worst of all, they poured a soupy broth over the risotto that was super fishy and simply did not taste good. I left hungry with more than half of my food on my plate still because it tasted so bad. My husband's pasta was severely lacking in flavor. Even the tiny bites of pancetta were so covered in the bland sauce that they were drowned and flavorless. If this place was at a lower price point I might give it 3 stars, but we spent $230 for a meal we disliked. I...
