I recently returned to @shlapmuan located in North Long Beach. They’re a fast-casual Cambodian joint that’s primarily known for their Cambodian chicken wings. Here’s the deal:⁣ ⁣ 𝐌𝐞𝐞 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠⁣ This classic Cambodian-Chinese dish is comprised of wide rice noodles that have been wok fried with egg and various sauces and topped with Chinese broccoli, carrot, beef (or protein of choice), and a soy-oyster sauce gravy. The noodles have a nice smokiness from the wok and carries the sauce well which is rich and savory. It’s one of my go-tos for an approachable Cambodian meal. ⁣ ⁣ 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝗪𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬⁣ These wings are fried to a crisp and paired with various spices and sauces. The first are the “Cambodian Dirt” which is dusted in a dry seasoning with notes of lemongrass. The second are orange habanero, which is sweet with a nice kick. Lastly, are the Water Buffalo wings which have a sharp heat and has a similar vibe to classic Buffalo wings. These are a typical snack in Cambodian-American households and I really enjoyed them. ⁣ ⁣ To sum up, Shlap Muan is a great starting point if you’re looking to take a step into trying to Cambodian cuisine. Next time you’re in North LB, be sure to swing by and tell them I sent ya!

I recently returned to @shlapmuan located in North Long Beach. They’re a Cambodian chicken wing joint that also happens to be one of my favorite spots for chicken wings in the city. I went for their classic Cambodian Dirt wings, here are the details:⁣ ⁣ 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐭 𝗪𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬⁣ Sometimes I like my wings saucy, but the allure of a crispy dry wing is hard to resist when they have as much flavor as these ones. They’re a riff on the classic lemon pepper wings but with Cambodian inspiration. These wings are coated in a spice blend inspired by the ever present Cambo spice paste known as 𝘬𝘳𝘰𝘦𝘶𝘯𝘨. The vibes? Lemongrass and pepper—bright and herbaceous. This wing is a total knockout. ⁣ ⁣ All in all, if you’re a wing aficionado, you’ll find yourself right at home here. They have a whole host of flavors from saucy to dry, Buffalo to Cambodia. Next time you’re looking to take flight, swing by and get 𝘴𝘩𝘭𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥.

If you like fried rice and chicken wings, then you must check out @shlapmuan, a Cambodian chicken wing spot right here in Long Beach—though they’re also at @smorgasburgla on Sundays. Most people know them for their wings, especially the Cambodian Dirt flavor which is a dry wing that’s dusted in a bright lemongrass spice mix. What people don’t know is that their fried rice is also legit. The rice is wok-tossed—and if you get it with shrimp, it’s topped with batter-fried shrimp which adds a nice crunch to the experience. Also new to their menu, is the tamarind shrimp. Almost whole shrimp that’s wok-tossed in a sweet tamarind glaze. This item is very good! Next time you’re looking for a casual Cambodian experience, be sure to visit Shlap Muan in North Long Beach!

Finally came here where my friend James from long beach Food Coma suggested …over here on the Eastside of LB to enjoy some delicious hot wings and garlic noodles I picked the Dirty Elvis ones wok tossed in their sweet house sauce garnish with red peppers and onions super crispy, on point fully cooked yet not dry juicy… I love mine crispy to the bite but juicy chicken wings not dry💯❤️‍🔥had the pleasure to meet Hak and his mother super kind and welcoming people…thank you for the awesome chat! I added garlic noodles with shrimp to my order…surprising my mother with dinner she Loves Chicken wings❤️🌻once my order was completed I had to try before leaving because I wanted that crispy taste then and there of that hot wing,,, absolutely sweet and delicious with much flavor that I was extremely happy to know that mom would enjoy them too..and when I arrived to eat after 10 min drive.. the wings were still hot and crispy they had cooled down but had soaked in that house sauce just enough to just bite away on that delicious chicken wing and leave nothing but bones 😆🤤garlic noodles were good and was told to dip my crispy shrimp into the wings house sauce…ohhhh that was Party in my mouth!! 🤤🥰🌻I’m definitely returning and highly suggest you all come try their Wings and more delicious items on the menu!! Family owned for over 20 years and now their son Hak pronounced “Hawk” is taking over the business come support your local business with your purchase to keep awesome places like this open…you won’t regret it!!! I bet you can’t just have 1 Shlap Muan🌻💯which means “Chicken Wing”❤️Nena will return 🌻Gracias y...

I’m giving this establishment a 1 star review specifically on their level of customer service. My husband ordered BONELESS wings and was given BONED wings instead but did not realize this until he got home. I called the restaurant and spoke to a woman who then transferred me to a man.

I explained to him that my husband ordered boneless wings but was given boned wings. The man proceeds to tell me that they do not offer boneless wings therefore an employee would never offer boneless wings. I then reiterated that my HUSBAND ordered boneless wings and if the establishment did not have any then they should’ve told him that there wasn’t any instead of putting boned wings into a box and allowing him to believe that he was ordering boneless wings.

The conversation very quickly escalated. I was very clear when I said that I wasn’t looking for a refund but rather accountability. He, again, continued to tell me that his employees wouldn’t have offered boneless wings and “let’s take it down a notch” (assuming he didn’t like my tone since I progressively became more agitated that he wasn’t being accountable for the mistake.

Again, I wasn’t looking for a refund (which I specifically stated) but rather was looking for accountability which this establishment doesn’t have. I will not support this business and encourage others not to if it’s managers/owners don’t know what customer service and...

Probably one of best wings I've had compared to my brother's wings done at his home, but then again both sides are Cambodian including me 😜 but loved how the wings are fairly huge and not those dinky ones from other competitors.

Flavors are definitely on point and not super overwhelming but just right! The Cambodian Dirt is serious fire! The Spicy Cambodian Dirt is just an extra umpf of deliciousness. I just love how the wings are able to maintain the crunch and still have their flavors maintain. Also tried their Spicy Elephant and that also was amazing with that slightly spicy peanut combo flavor. One last thing, also tried their garlic noodles and that worked as their pallette cleanser as you're eating the wings. I mainly got that for my kid but there was just so much of it that I know he won't finish it haha.

The service is great and friendly vibes. Nothing more less than par. Met Hawk the owner, he's pretty cool beans and coincidentally knows my friend's husband. Prices for everything overall is actually pretty good and fair for the amount of food given!

Parking: free ample in a shared shopping area.

Great place overall! I'll definitely be back to try more of...
