Richard's Deli — Restaurant in Long Branch

I've gone to this place ever since I was little and it's always been a staple place to go for a great lunch or early dinner. Now it's absolutely terrible. Do not waste your money here. The macaroni salad, pickles, and coleslaw are no longer free on the table because "apparently" according to our waitor people were just taking a bunch to go. From what I remember they never really brought enough that would really be lost in to go containers. Also it's been like that since I can remember, if it was that big a loss I'm sure it would've been cut earlier. Sodas now come in bottles unless you want the off brand cola from the tap. Service was awful, felt like we were being rushed and anything we asked for was an inconvenience. Menu is filled with items more suited to Jacks, the dinners are gone completely, and the only sides are chips or fries no more onion rings. The three pastrami sandwiches we had were dry, salty, and burned. The ruben didn't come with Russian dressing and when it was brought it was clearly not the same type as before. WHAT DID YOU DO?!?! This establishment has experienced a noticeable decline in both quality and affordability under the new ownership. It is evident that the current management has not upheld the standards previously maintained. The decrease in food quantity, accompanied by subpar bread offerings, and the implementation of higher pricing has resulted in a notable decrease in overall satisfaction.

Regrettably, the negative aspects of this transformation are numerous and extensive. The once-beloved deli has undoubtedly suffered, leaving patrons dissatisfied with the current state of affairs. The sole redeeming factor in this scenario is the acceptance of credit card payments.

In light of these concerns, I earnestly urge the owners to reconsider their approach and prioritize a return to the superior standards that once made this establishment Long Branch's favorite deli. By doing so, they can restore the establishment's reputation and regain the trust and loyalty of...

I disagree with most of these reviews. We are starving for a good deli in this area. So you really have NO OTHER choice but to go here to get anything close to deli. The cash only thing is overbearing, with the ATM right next to the cashier. The price for sandwiches is overpriced considering the amount of meat you get. I bought a corned beef sandwich. Rye bread slices were SMALL. As if that would make the amount of meat look larger! The corned beef, NOT a lot for the price tag of $9.75 !! People say great & delicious, I say NOT! Clearly have never been to a good deli. It wasn't even hot as described. Potato salad side dry & not really tasty. Matzo balls in the soup leave something to be desired.
