Veterans day...where to go eat when you are new to Texas? My kids told us about the Cotton Patch Cafe, my wife, aka "the boss" and I decide to check it out. From Carthage we drive to Longview where we are greeted with a packed front parking lot, luckily there is more parking in the rear. We walk in and are told to wait 10-15 minutes. Once seated, Tiffany immediately swings by introduces herself as our waitress and takes our drink orders; she is friendly, knowledgeable, and very easy to talk with. The boss had a Dr Pepper and I had an unsweetened tea with lemon. The drinks came to the table ice cold, but they were out of straws, this is a problem for the boss, I try to save the day by checking the truck...no luck. We ordered the brisket queso appetizer, which was delicious and served at the correct temperature. The chips were warm and the salsa was not to my liking. I was provided an option of 2 meals for veterans day, chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken, each served with my choice of two sides. I ordered the chicken fried steak, garlic mashed potatoes and corn. We also ordered a $6 meatloaf meal with French fries and an additional side of mac n cheese for $3. We were provided tasty warm rolls and butter. When the food arrived the fries were still warm, but just barely. The chicken fried steak had a crisp coating which held up even after being slathered in white gravy. The garlic mashed potatoes were good, the corn seemed like it was warmed from frozen, but it was good enough. The meatloaf didn't seem balanced enough for the boss, it tasted of bell pepper; I liked the meatloaf. The macaroni and cheese was nothing special. We ordered two deserts the chocolate cake with ice cream and strawberries and the white looking butter cake something or other with carmel sauce. Each were wonderful. All said and done it was a huge quantity of food for a great price. The stars of lunch were the chicken fried steak, rolls, cakes and Tiffany. The service was great and the food was good enough to go back. I spoke with Ashley the Assistant Manager and told her how Tiffany made the...
Read morePlease be weary of ordering and paying over the phone from Cotton Patch, especially for large orders. For Thanksgiving Day, my family decided to order catering from Cotton Patch. We placed an order and paid for this order with a credit card over the phone. When we went to the store to pick up the order, the manager on duty explained to us that credit card we provided over the phone failed for an unknown reason. Since this credit card failed, we decided to pay with a debit card. The debit card transaction went through and we left with our order. After looking back at our credit card statements, we found that the credit card had been charged twice despite Cotton Patch claiming the transaction failed. These two charges were made in addition to one charge made on the debit card we used in-store. This means there were three total charges for the same order between the credit card and debit card! We explained to them the situation and provided evidence in-person that we needed to receive two refunds. After much back and forth, we finally received just one refund. When we brought to the management's attention that we were still in need of a second refund, they claimed corporate would not authorize a second refund. After continuing back and forth with them, we went to the store a second time to resolve this situation. Management continued to explain that corporate was not going to authorize the second refund, meaning we were still being charged twice for one order. Shortly after this visit, Cotton Patch finally authorized the second refund. This was a very frustrating, one month long process! Save yourself the time and energy by...
Read moreNever have I seen such a lack in customer service . I almost wanted to ask the waitress if she is on drugs ! We ordered two meal and when things were missing we called . Lady who answered was asked about missing items and her reply was a minute of thinking ( slow I guess ) then said I forgot to put it in . No apologizes no nothing . So I have to drive 20 minutes back to get this rest of my order because lady who most likely stoned outta her head or just slow in the head forgot but can’t even apologize or offer us anything for her lacking . When I called back to talk to manager they purposely had my waiting so long I had to finally hang up . If your customer service is this bad best to find another place to go. Who wants to pay money to an establishment who is not only acts stoned but can’t even apologize for her not doing her job correctly ! 20 minutes there and twenty minutes back ! Ya never going back to this place . Seems you don’t need a full deck to get hired here nor any manners . I would think they trained their staff that if they make a mistake please apologize . Instead she says nothing and no longer speaks . Then manager never answers phone so guess this establishment is ghetto .what I payed for two meals I think I would deserve some class but I was wrong . I think McDonald’s employees have more class for a 5 dollar meal then this 20 dollar meal establishment .If you don’t mind a circus act then by all means eat here but if you want to be treated like a customer should be then go else where . Now to the taste of the food , I don’t know I’ll eat in 40 minutes while my food just sitting there...
